At Your Age

Well its back to work now..... Everyone feeling the strain of trying to get back into it..... Looks like a busy January coming up for me, with lots of travelling n stuff. People at work are just finding out that I've gone part time, so waiting to see reactions.... Other than that not much happening. My SO is tired and down with the usual sniffles of this time of year. We nearly had a fire here yesterday when a circuit board he was working on decided to catch light!! Then as I rushed to open the window to get rid of the smell, the wind blew over the Xmas tree, so lots of broken glass baubles everywhere!! I guess that counts as finishing of the Xmas hols with a bang?

HAPPY NEW YEAR! My first posting of 2001 and hopefully not my last! Hope everyone was out getting merrily drunk last night and having a good time. Unfortunately of the people I decided to phone at midnight to wish them a Happy New Year, one was in bed asleep, one had just got in from work, and one was driving somewhere on a motorway!! Boy do my friends know how to celebrate huh?

For someone who works from home I seem to be doing rather alot of travelling lately! I was out on site again yesterday. A lovely wander around the M25 to Potters Bar, in some rather enthusiastic wind! And just as I arrive in the car park, the hail started!! Yuk! Still very tired from havin to get up at 4am to go to Copenhagen on Monday, and then getting up early again yesterday to get to Potters Bar....

Flight to Copenhagen was chaos, they'd managed to check people into seats on the aircraft that didn't exist. The aircraft had seats A, C, D & F and they had put loads of people in seats B!! Fortunately there were enough spare seats for everyone to sit in, but trying to juggle people around on some tiny plane you can barely stand up in is tricky to say the least!! Copenhagen airport was great! The shops! Oh the shops! I had never heard that Copenhagen airport was rated at all for shopping, but when I got there, I couldn't believe how many shops there were after you had gone through to Departures! Including lots of designer shops like Gucci! Course I didn't actually get around to buying anything, I was too busy wandering around looking like a rabbit caught in headlights!

OW! OW! OW! I've done something to my neck :-( Moving my head is a major feat... Trying to sleep last night was, erm, interesting. I s'pect I've just pulled a muscle or summat, but boy does it hurt! Ah well.....

Monday I have to go off to Copenhagen for work. Might be interesting as I've never been. Got a doctors apt tomorrow to check I'll be okay to fly with my neck. Hopefully this weekend will be a quiet one. Got nothing arranged. Might just have to do a little shopping :-))

Ah the delights of a lie in Saturday morning! I don't normally manage one coz the ol' body clock decides its time to wake up at 8am everyday normally :-( Tonight we are off out to have dinner with a friend of ours in Leicester (Hi Richard!), stopping to pick up some old computer mags on the way (don't ask!). So I guess the lie in is a good thing as we'll be up late tonight...

Just hope my back decides to behave, otherwise I won't enjoy myself.... Ah well, lots of alcohol should cure that :-))

I'm Baaack! Boy is Orly airport the poor cousin of CDG!!! Looks like something out of the seventies, with loverly wood panelling on the walls. And the shops were non-existant :-( So no going mad in Duty Free for little ol' me!

So I'm trying to organise an Xmas meet for a whole bunch of people, but I'm having problems finding a pub (or similar) in London, that has both good wheelchair access and a non-smoking (or well ventilated) section. If anyone has any bright ideas PLEASE mail me . (FX: crosses fingers she got her HTML right there!)

Blergh! Its 4:55am :-( And I'm up because I have to be at Heathrow airport by 7am to go to Paris to sort out a potential customer for work....... Wish me luck :-( Did I mention I HATE flying? The return flight is okay coz I can get plastered before I go.... but I can't really do that for the outbound journey! Hey Ho....
