Whee... It's two AM, I'm wide awake because I've been asleep most of the day, and my throat hurts something godawful. I missed classes today, and at the rate I'm going, unless I feel awesome in the morning, I'm not gonna go tomorrow either. So what happened this weekend while I was away from the keyboard, and away from my blog? Well, Cal lost to Washington State, making us officially the crappiest team in the Pac-10 conference. Awful football weekend. And I tried to spend the weekend getting caught up on homework, but failed miserably there too. Whee. Anyway, I guess I'll be hitting the sack. Is there anybody out there that reads this? Or am I just sending my randomness into the ether, where my thoughts are left to stagnate? Saturday, September 30, 2000
grr... Yes. Bed, I need bed. I've managed to overwrite two posts tonight. Anyway, in brief, solitare is not a productivity tool. G'night.
Oh, damn. I really need to go to sleep. I managed to overwrite my ramblings about homecoming tonight...whee! Oh well, to sum it up quickly, it was homecoming around the old high school alma mater, and we got rocked hard, losing to one of the section powers. Owwwww. Anyway, los ositios (the Cubs) are 2-3 in the post-Reid era. I'll have to write a bit more about Coach Reid in a later entry, he was a really cool guy and an awesome teacher...and the football team went some amazing 40-5-1 record when I went through high school, including a 12-0 season. It took going to Cal to accept losing gracefully. The Bears play WSU at Memorial tomorrow (today) too...g'luck to them. Go Cubs! Go Bears! Beat the Cougars! Thursday, September 28, 2000
Just what everybody needed...more linkage. Anyway, I figured I'd update the site, make the list of links down the side congruent with these text ramblings...so far there's two categories. I'm mulling two more, one for 'blogs I really like, and one for my own projects, but for right now, people and things I like will work just fine. The scary part is, that's probably the closest I've come to having a links page, so enjoy them. Think of them as random boxes on the closet shelf. Besides, I'm bored in the library, so the only thing to do is this. :)
a host is a host... o/~ a host is a host from coast to coast and no one can talk to a host that's close unless the host that isn't close is busy, hung, or dead! o/~ (to the tune of Mr. Ed) Fun with networking, today, and I ended up doing better than I thought. Despite the almost Jerry Springerish nature of Cisco class... :)
Living la vida JC... I hate it here. I spent four years down in Berkeley, going to the University of California (go Bears!). Berkeley was difficult, yes, but Berkeley was also interesting. If you got bored, you went and wandered down telegraph...there was no end of amusement there. Now, I'm at the local JC in this podunk town (Shasta College, in Redding, CA, if you really want to know.) Shasta's easy as hell (except for my Cisco class, in which I'm sitting right now, listening to folks argue over IP addressing...god, this sucks), but to make up for it, I'm stuck in this podunk town, where people go around driving their pickup trucks, listening to country music, and preparing to vote for Dubya this fall. (As you can tell, I'm neither cowboy nor Republican.) At least I'm out of here at the end of the spring (woo hoo!). At this point, even Chico (which is still in this godforsaken valley, but south) would be better than here. Monday, September 25, 2000
Busy, busy, busy... Everybody's got too much to do. I've got too much to do. And another night where there's no calculus homework done. Oh well, I give. G'night.
Car shopping and other miscellaneous junk... Hmmm...another day over. I've decided car shopping is not very much fun to do. I mean, there's all the cars you like, but they're way too expensive, and then there's all the cars you don't like, but dammit, they're the only thing you can afford to buy. Even if the gas gauge is broken, and there's no cruise control, and the person who owned it before's brother thought the car had AMAZING SUBMARINE POWERS and tried to drive it to Hawaii. The wonders of a limited budget, I guess. Things I want to get done in the next month: Finish a few stories, get signed up for the GRE, keep up in all my classes, and do random miscellaneous things. Now to see if I can do it.
everybody needs a beginning... Well, here goes the masochist again. I don't know if this will work, or if I'll manage to keep the thing updated, but here you are. my closet, katster's closet...where I can share random bits of my mind that will probably be as random as the collection of stuff in my (and probably yours as well) closet. So watch out for the ski poles, look out for that loose box, and take a gander at what I've got here. |
