Life Continues

No more words right now about the WTC or that. I wrote up the last day or so here, so go read it if you like. It's long. Oh yeah, and I'm back in EQ in my mythical spare time. Tunare server, "Eldrikir", barb shaman. Fun so far!

DSL

Installed and rocks. Very nice. Speeds are good, support is as bad as expected. I'm usually getting around 280k/s up and 450k/s down. Hard drives are, consequently, nearly maxed out. ::grin:: Should be fixing that shortly, though, and stocking up on CD-Rs.

Work

I got another lateral "promotion"
. Much of the administrative staff have come by in the last few weeks to commend me on my work with the project. Apparently they like it so well they are going to give me a new desk and computer in the Planning and Analysis area now, off the call floor entirely. I'm hoping that after I save them enough money, they might be inclined to give me some of it. :p I'll give that a few months til the stuff I come up with gets implemented and the numbers tell the tale.

Linkage

World of Warcraft preview/review. It's a nice thought, really, but I'll wait til it's actually out - with boxes and books on a store shelf - til I get even remotely excited about it. Blizzard R0XX0RZ j00 with vaporware.

Wired talks about the new file sharing apps on the net. This was nice - I use Morpheus myself, and almost always find what I'm looking for. I just got a copy of one of the best Batman/Superman Adventures episode called World's Finest for use til they put it on DVD.

Sneak Preview of the Cowboy Bebop movie. DROOL - this looks incredible.

Look! It's a snake in the grass! This is just pathetic. I hope they bust with tactics like these.

Think I've nearly talked myself into coughing up the dough for this case when I start putting the new computer together. With the light case, possibly. Drool again. :)

I have a bunch more links I've been meaning to share, so I'll have to update again later this week with more. For now, though, I need to finish and get to bed.

Today's Interesting Thought
from BeliefNet

What good is a man's knowledge unless it prompts him to
Prevent the pain of others as if it were his own pain?

Any actions which a man knows would harm himself
He should not inflict on others.

The supreme principle is this: Never knowingly
Harm anyone at any time in any way. -Tirukkural 32: 315-317
