random thoughts
complex: blizzard is gonna school verant.
complex: on the other hand, i got a really good picture of my 240 today. not such a great background or lighting, but the angle really makes the car look nice. it's from the side, and just a little above. s14s look really good that way. i still want an rx7.
Cyan Shadow: bored. i wish my mustang ran.
complex: bored. i wish i had an rx7.
sn0re: It is my goal in life to produce a movie that will crack IMDb's Bottom 100 Films of All Time.
Eddie: I'm actually starting to miss having a working webpage. Oh well, I didn't really update it anyway. It was kinda a nice way of leaving people info when you can't seem to contact them otherwise.
Cyan Shadow: A commercial for songs from commercials? Did they try selling it with a song? And is that song on the CD?
complex: ugh.

Cyan Shadow: Heh. Does anyone see the irony in plex writing a pro-hacker letter to a guy named Gibson? (For those who don't know, the name of the supercomputer that they attack in the movie Hackers is named Gibson.) Anyway, for more on this subject, see my site.

I really, really like the new BMW 3 series. If I had the money, I would definitely drop it on a new BMW 330Ci, or even a 325Ci. Hell, even the sedan versions (325i and 330i) would be great. Too bad they are way out of my price range, cause I'd really love to get one. Of course, the RX-7 is still my ultimate goal.

As mentioned before, the support for the US from countries around the world is just incredible.

Ever since the events on the 11th, I haven't been able to pull myself away from the news for any extended period of time. Even now, past 2 AM, when I really should be going to sleep, I would rather stay up and listen to CNN or NYPD broadcasts, or just talk to people about it. It still doesn't seem like it can be real. Terrorists hijacking planes and ramming them, full of passengers, into the World Trade Center towers.. The tallest buildings in New York City, and filled with people. The eventual collapse of both towers... The plane crashing into the Pentagon... It's something out of a movie, something from a Tom Clancy book. Watching the video footage is mesmerizing... It's an unbelievably horrible act, but I can't stop watching it and trying to analyze it. Probably the most disturbing thing I've seen so far is the video of the Palestinians actually celebrating the attack in their country. Dancing in the streets, obviously with no regard at all to the massive amounts of human life lost. It was disgusting. On the other hand, the amount of support for the US from other countries around the world is amazing. Generally, people tend to think of the US as the biggest, strongest, most invincible country in the world. Now, when it's been crippled, it's truly inspiring to see other countries around the world helping this country to get back on its feet, instead of leaving it to fend for itself. The huge support for blood donation (even here in Tucson, across the country, the donating centers are overflowing with volunteers), and the monetary donations through Amazon and PayPal are also incredible. Over two million dollars has already been donated to the relief efforts, all from individuals. Some companies, like General Electric, have donated goods or services (medical equipment, in the case of GE) as well. It's interesting to see how strong a nation can become when they are attacked like this. I'm sure that all the images from the past two days that are floating through my head can't even begin to compare to those of the people who were there and witnessed the event firsthand. I've also tried to imagine what it must have been like for the people on the planes, or in the buildings during the events. Surely, my imagination doesn't hold a candle to the brutal reality of the situation. I've had too much running through my head since this all began, and it's far from over. I have plenty more I could talk about, but I lost my train of thought. The insanity of these events are just overwhelming sometimes, and all I can do is sit and watch in disbelief.

Today has been absolutely unreal.

I just saw Seven Years In Tibet. I am no good at reviewing things, so I'll just say it was a very good movie, and leave it at that.

Motor Trend wrote up a small list of some vehicles coming out or changing in 2004, and a couple things caught my eye..

2004 BMW 1 Series: Despite rumors that the beloved "2002" nameplate would return, BMW has announced the new entry-level line will be called the 1 Series. Like all BMWs, these compact cars promise to be rear-drive, define sport in their category, and be well engineered. The 1 Series will be positioned between the Mini and the 3 Series.

I've always liked BMWs a lot, but they are rather expensive - even the lowest 3 Series model is something like $26,000. If they make the 1 Series look nice (I absolutely love the way the current 3s look.. Oh, how I want a brand new 330ci), perform well, and keep the price around, say, $20,000, I'd have to consider buying one. Moving on:

2004 Bugatti EB 16-4 Veyron: The radical 2004 Bugatti EB 16-4 Veyron boasts an 8.0-liter W16 engine from parent VW, cranking out 1001 horsepower with four turbochargers. Price for this exotic will be $750,000, plus tax.

I've heard of this beast before, but last time I read about it, it was a supercharged W16. I like turbos much, much better. Just think about what that says.. Sixteen cylinders. Four turbos. One thousand horsepower. It's not a car, it's.. it's.. I have no idea what it is. It's insanity. It's boggling my mind as I type this. Go check the list out, it's got a few other interesting mentions too.
