Even though this site is auf deutsch, NET-TV has a wealth of webcam and video stream links in a very nice format. Worth the surf! · Jim @ 02:16 ET ·

You know I got to trying to figure out where the Train Cam (see below) was located. First, I found a sign that appears to refer to the railroad station: METRA. As in the MetraRail Commuter Rail System in the Chicago, Illinois area. Then I found another landmark upon zooming around: a neon sign that says Shaw's. So, I went off to the Yahoo! Yellow Pages. It belongs to Shaw's Seafood Grill. Now, there are a total of 37 restaurants listed in Deerfield, IL. Damn! There is a Romano's Macaroni Grill on the same road, same block! And the Home Depot is there, too! So, it appears that where we are watching is along Lake Cook Rd in Deerfield, Illinois! I am going to drop the 'cam developer a note to see if I am right! · Jim @ 18:40 ET ·
You liked Survivor and the other reality show-in-a-house whose name escapes me? Enter de Bus. I wish I understood Dutch, but it is the same principle, except on wheels and it is live on the Internet 24-by-7. No commercial interruptions, either. No "Is that your final answer?" or "the idiots (excuse me, tribe) has spoken" either. Click the DE BUS LIVE link, requires Windows Media Player. · Jim @ 17:07 ET ·
We'll get off the train for a moment to look at this list of Swiss Webams, including a list of interactive 'cams, as well as the normal fixed position ones. Still on the train? The University of Applied Sciences, in Rapperswil, Switzerland has a steerable cam where you can see, you got it, a train station. · Jim @ 17:02 ET ·
Train heaven! Visit TrainWeb's eight live 'cams at the Fullerton Santa Fe RR Depot and Mainline. All aboard! · Jim @ 16:45 ET ·
More choo-choo's! From Trainorders.Com, the Dunsmuir, California RailCam. They also host the Tehachapi RailCam. · Jim @ 16:36 ET ·
They call this the Train Cam. Haven't seen a train yet, but there is a restaurant named "Zippy's", a Bennigan's, a Macraroni Grill, a Home Depot, and some ComEd trucks in a parking lot. Anyone know where this 'cam is? There's no geographical reference on it. Really a sharp cam, too - steerable and zoomable up to 12x! You can almost read the license plates on cars in the lot. · Jim @ 16:14 ET ·
Well, since West's choice yesterday was airport 'cams (and I hate to fly), I am finding some terrestrial transportation 'cams today. The Maryland State Highway Administrations' Live Traffic Cameras are excellent. No choppy frames here - all highway views are via smooth RealVideo. I especially likes the US 50 Bay Bridge approach shots - I sat there in traffic on too many summer weekends going to the Delaware Beaches. Also featured are live (still) weather cam shots from around the state. · Jim @ 15:19 ET ·
