My life is changing... I don't live at home anymore and I'm spending a lot of time with a great guy who's really good for me. I feel like I'm getting on with my life, working toward my goals and everything. My housemates are sweeter than I could ever imagine, and the apartment is huge and beautiful. So tell me again, why am I crying?
Weezer last night... it was so very good...
I especially enjoyed the Cal Berkeley marching band's Weezer covers. *smile* I couldn't really see from where I was (sucks to be small). My feet are sore cause I spent the majority of the show on my tip-toes. Randy and I were supposed to go to the San Jose show, but we ended up using Justin's tickets to go to Oakland. If you want tickets to the San Jose show (at original ticket cost), send me email at corrieann@hotmail.com. It's postponed for "a later date"... which will be announced at weezer.com.
No weezer tonight, but in light of the current events... it would seem pretty irreverent and pointless to go to a show now. I feel like I should have some insightful, beautiful thing to write about the state of the US, especially since I watched the news for about 6 hours today. But I don't... I'm just glad Chris is okay and that I don't know anyone else that was directly affected by the situation. I think I'm too emotionally exhausted to offer many thoughts about this... all I want to do is go to bed and maybe I'll wake up to discover this was just a nightmare anyway.
4 days and counting...

It appears that instead of just moving my stuff in, I'm supposed to box up and empty the room I've been living in at my parent's house. I did offer the space to my older brother, because I have a great desk and he's just recently become a high school science teacher. However, by extending that kindness, I wasn't picturing myself having to pack away my books and relocate all of my formal dresses and random clothing items to other closets in the house. It really makes it feel like they are ready for me to move out. Well, I'm reclaiming this space when x-mas break comes... and that's all there is to it. =oD
Darn it... I want a cigarette. My weekend was great: I think everyone wanted to get as much craziness in as possible before Cabrillo started back up. So now, lots more people are back in school and I've got even more time to kill. It's good though, maybe I'll get inspired to clean and organize again (probably not). Lucas referred to me as Randy's girl last night, so I asked Randy if that's what I was... no response.
So this is my "I'm obsessed with Rufus Wainwright - specifically his lyrics" site decor. I think I need a full out redesign, not just a change of colour, before I go back to school. I quit my job, so I have way too much time on my hands. And to prove that I offer my plans for this week: Requiem for a Dream, Dead Poet's Society, Pi, and hopefully Randy. We all saw Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back last night. What a waste. Although it was worth it to see Rob break dancing in the aisle beforehand... and seemingly attract several onlookers in the projector booth in the back above the theatre.
So today was my last day working at Breadstix. I didn't realize how much a part of my life it was until yesterday... in the time that I've been working there I got my car, got into UCSC, parted ways with Wyatt, became friends with Sherry and Kim, and met Randy. Sherry got me a Mancala board and we played it during our break. Cindy gave me a card and a big mylar balloon. I started crying when I read her card.
Great show last night. I think the highlight was the guy from MU330, just him and his guitar up on stage for a full set. It got kinda old after a while, but the last line of the streetlight song was the best part of the night. The Creekans were good as always. Josh's last show... I don't really know him very well, but I'll miss him anyway. If you went to the show, write to the Metro about how great Nate was (sorry Billy). Slow Gherkin was low energy in comparison to their last Rio show, but James was fun to watch. *wink, wink* The whole scene just isn't the same when shows are for all ages. It was cool to see the 10 yr. old girl dancing up on stage for the creekans, but it was not so great being surrounded by 14 year old guys who were trying to get the attentions of the slutty young girls there. I kept commenting on how old I felt... which should not be the case at all... not yet at least.
The Haunting is calling you; come up, come up! Let me take you higher. The Vurt wants you. The Cat wants you.

I've managed to read so much in the last few days... sacrificing sleep probably. Party at Sherry's tonight: no boggle this time, but plenty of beer. My stomach is complaining now from just one that I had hours ago. Everyone had a bit too much to drink tonight, except little ol' sober me. Tonight was dreamy, a sky full of stars and a circle of people just sitting outside, talking. Sublime playing in the background... it was great.

The show last night kind of sucked but turned out well. Paul and I went, last-minute, and ended up missing the opening band, Hey Mercedes... the only real reason I went was because I wanted to see them live. We weren't late, but the catalyst was taking forever to filter people in for some reason. So we could barely hear them from outside... not enough to get an idea of even whether or not they were any good. Saves the Day was a disappointment... they were okay, but I don't really do the pop-punk thing. Hot Rod Circuit rocked, but they had a short set because they weren't the headlining band. They should have played longer. But this all was fine because some cute guy at the door gave me a free ticket... so I have no right to complain.
No updates for a few days. My life got turned upside down all of a sudden. I'm facing feelings I had denied in the past, and so the things on my mind haven't really been appropriate subject matter for posting here.
So I got the day off for a Human Genome talk at UCSC, neglecting to get tickets until after my day off had been confirmed. So it was okayed today... just in time for all the tickets to be gone. Ack. Looks like I'll be tuning in to the webcast. But on a brighter note I got my housing assignments for UCSC. I'll be living in an Double Quad Apartment with one roommate and two other housemates. It was my first choice, so I'm pretty excited. The rooms are decent sized and we have a deck and a kitchen. Only a little over a month to go before I move in...
So I was talking to my friend Yavar the other night about sex dreams. I guess not everyone has them. I thought it was a common occurence, and I was merely normal for having them. Then I realized that since Kurt Vonnegut is the subject of nearly all of them, I must not be normal. So it goes.
I spent all of yesterday's beautiful sunny afternoon down in Capitola Village sketching. It was a very cool day: I was a loner but not lonely and then I met some guy from Florence, Italy named Michelangelo... he's a fine arts major at the university in Florence. I would have spent more of my afternoon with him but his accent was so thick that I could barely understand a word he said. Here's a product of my lazy afternoon: A building on the cliffs above Capitola.
Sometimes I read my horoscope in the morning, reflect on it later, and it applies, maybe by coincidence or even because I sub-consciously shape my day around it... well today I read it after the majority of my day had passed. Here it is:

Virgo
It is very likely that you will participate in an interesting discussion that provides you with insights about something that you've been wondering for quite some time. The topic might have something to do with relationship issues and romance. It will definitely bring up memories of someone with whom you had a relationship once. This could stir up some complicated feelings for you. You might have to take some time to connect with your true emotions about this person. Meditate on the subject and dig from more insights. If you can make sense out of it, you may be able to make a necessary correction in your behavior, which will be to your advantage.

Now that was EXACTLY the major focus in my day.
