Tuesday, June 05, 2001 I'm actually feeling pretty good even though I only ate one meal today. I had a really late lunch/early supper from Subway. I waited longer than I thought I would to have my hair cut and missed lunch. I'm a bit tired after today though, but that probably has to do more with sitting in class for four hours this afternoon. You know, I'm a bit surprised I wasn't dying from hunger during class. posted at 10:17 PM Sunday, June 03, 2001 Blogger is pissing me off. It's time to say good-day to you sir. posted at 11:37 PM For the last few weeks, everytime I go into my bathroom at night, I've been able to make out a lizard on the outside of the window. When I got out of the shower just awhile ago, I noticed that the lizard was there. In a strange way, he's almost become my shower companion. However, if he ever managed to find his way into the shower, he would go down. Oh yes, he would go down. posted at 11:23 PM Saturday, June 02, 2001 I'm so tired, and I have no idea why I should be. For the past few weeks I've been waking up around 10:30. Is it possible that getting too much sleep is bad for you? posted at 4:19 PM Thursday, May 31, 2001 Well, LostDreams.org is back online after 3 days. I'm still settling in and still need to do a couple more things. I also have ideas for more changes to the domain. Man, I'm never going to be satisfied with the domain... posted at 6:08 PM Friday, May 25, 2001 Looks like the domain transfer will take a little longer than I thought. I needed to take care of the transfer myself. I tried to do it before, but Network Solutions' procedure is just a pain in the ass. For some reason, it wouldn't go through. I was going to do it anyway, so I transferred the domain name to another registar. That's going to take a few days and then I can point the name towards the new host. Damn Yahoo! for making it so tempting to use them in the first place. I'm going through too much just to switch hosts. I'm going to be deleting my account with them on the 28th so my credit card doesn't get charged for another month. So, there's a possibility that LostDreams.org will go dark for a day or two. Hopefully, it won't come to that and all these changes will go smoothly and quickly. posted at 8:29 PM I might not be updating for the next few days. I'm in the process of changing web hosts will be waiting for the transfer to complete until I update again. posted at 12:00 PM Tuesday, May 22, 2001 What do you choose: the pink pill or the blue pill? It's funny how a little thing like the weather can change the mood outside. The world suddenly becomes grey as clouds hide the sun, it gets quieter outside, and then the rain slowly starts to come down more and more. After a while, it all goes away and the world goes back to the way it was. It's poetic in a way. posted at 6:06 PM Sunday, May 20, 2001 I was out for a bit this afternoon. Hmmm...I wonder if it really is. posted at 11:31 PM Yay! I made a webring. All you web designers should go there now :-) posted at 10:17 PM Wednesday, May 16, 2001 With my time off, I think I've been dreaming too big when it comes to the domain. I've already done another re-design for my personal site that I'll put up in June and I'm creating a webring. Then, I'm talking to my friend Amy this afternoon and she came up with an idea for a group weblog. I'll be hosting that on the domain. For at least a couple of weeks, I've been thinking of turning LostDreams.org into more than just my personal site. In addition to the webring, I've been wanting to revive an idea for a writing project I started to create back in November or December. I was looking into finding another web host, but I'm fine with Yahoo/Simplenet. I think the main reason I would want do that is to host a few people's sites. If I were to do that, I think offering web-based e-mail wouldn't be far behind. When I dream, I dream big I suppose. posted at 11:34 PM Tuesday, May 15, 2001 I was thinking that I need a mistress or something like that. You know, someone I could see with no commitment. Just image a man saying, "I'm up here *pointing to his head*, not down here *pointing to his penis*". (Yes, I know I'm weird tonight. I plan on getting out this afternoon because there's stuff I want to do and I also have my last final (of course, the test is late in the afternoon). I've been online because I have very little do around here. I've been on so long these past couple of days that I'm thinking of starting a webring for web design. It would be for people who love to design sites and even change their designs often ( I know that's something I'm guilty of). Before I go through with it, I think I'd like to make sure there would be interest in it. I'm sure there would be, but I don't want to be the only member of the ring. posted at 12:08 PM Tuesday, May 08, 2001 Britney makes me want to buy Pepsi. posted at 8:43 PM Monday, May 07, 2001 I am such a layout whore. I've had this design (Reflecting) up for about two weeks and I've already designed a layout for next month. I think maybe this is why I don't feel like writing in my journal so often. Instead of thinking and pondering things, I'm using my mind to be creative and design stuff. posted at 7:51 PM I was looking at the schedule to see when the summer classes would begin. They don't start until June 4th. I still have one final left to take (which isn't much really), but I have almost a whole month off. What am I going to do with all that time off? I think I should find some new hobbies. posted at 2:57 PM Sunday, May 06, 2001 I just recieved some spam of sorts. It was from someone whose guestbook I signed a long time ago. It was addressed to me and the dozens of others who have done the same. The gist of it was that she uploaded a new design for her site. Getting mail like this is something I do appreciate. I have an incredibly evil urge to hit Reply All and say, "While we're doing some shameless self promotion, come and visit my site too." Of course, that would be really wicked. Although, it couldn't hurt, but I would probably be pisssing off some people by doing that. It would also make me a hypocrite. posted at 11:41 PM Friday, May 04, 2001 I just woke up from a two hour nap not too long ago. I was reading my Political Science book and, once I was done studying, I layed there exhausted. I recieved a 6:30 wake-up call from my alarm this morning. I needed to wake up for my 8 am Meterology final. I'm definitely not a morning person, and waking up so early caught up with me this afternoon. After laying on the couch, I decided to move onto my bed. This was close to 3:00. The next thing I knew, it was after 5:00 when I woke up. I was this close to getting a sip when I saw something floating in the water. It was a fucking cockroach. Some time over the night, it fell into the cup and drowned in my water. I was so totally disgusted. I ran to the restroom, threw the water and cockroach into the toilet, and flushed the bastard. Needless to say, that cup will need to be boiled in hot water, disinfected, and blessed with holy water before I'll drink out of it again. posted at 2:12 PM Thursday, April 26, 2001 Well, I put the new design a few days earlier than I said I would. Don't you just hate when something like that happens? Ugh...I should've stayed home or gone looking for a graveyard to take pictures like I was thinking of earlier. posted at 6:51 PM Monday, April 23, 2001 There's a small thunder storm outside and I have a test to study for...over weather. Here's a lesson for the day: Don't try to take pictures while you're driving. Almost verring off the road or into oncoming traffic is no fun. Luckily, I'm a good driver and can drive with one hand on the wheel while looking through a viewfinder. I decided to take my digital camera with me today. I thought having it and looking for things to take pictures of would give me something to do. I took a few downtown and, after manipulating them digitally, there are probably a couple I'd like to put up on the site. Well anyway, here a my view of the world four days a week every morning (and remember safety first ^_^): ![]() posted at 5:34 PM Sunday, April 15, 2001 After almost two months, I've finally added new artwork. I was thinking of staying in bed a while and then just going out to get one of those wonderful breakfast bagels from McDonald's, but I was even too lazy to do that. Hmmm...I just realized I have no point I'm trying to make. Oh well... posted at 9:53 PM Blogger is being bad today. I posted stuff earlier, but it wouldn't go through. Thanks a lot for great service! :-) posted at 4:50 PM Tuesday, April 10, 2001 Ok, Butterfly Rain is officially back. It didn't take too long because everything is stored on my hard drive. :-) I've never used a layout for less than a day before, but Drowning will live on. There will be a spot for it in the previous layouts section in the next version I've got plannned. So, stay tuned because it'll be up in May. posted at 1:01 PM I'm starting to think I hastily put up this blogger format without thinking about it much. For a day or two, I thought about taking a break from the journal and blogging it for a while. So, I turned Lost Dreams basically into a one page site with links going to the cam and the slightly changed "Butterfly Rain" design containing the journal and art. Now I'm thinking I did it for no reason because I don't really want to take a hiatus from the journal. So, maybe I'll be taking away "Drowning" and put back "Butterfly Rain" with the blog added. I don't have anything against blogger sites, but I never created Lost Dreams to be one. Oh well, at least I can add "Drowning" to the list of layouts I've created. posted at 12:27 PM Monday, April 09, 2001 It seems as though I was in too much of a hurry to put the new one page design up. I forgot to put up the guestbook (ha! like anyone would sign. I'm still pissed Bravenet lost two entries though) and I kept having to play around with the code. The one thing I don't like is that Blogger's code kind of screws up the CSS I'm using. grrr...I can't hard return and make a new paragraph without the font changing. Oh well, the new, streamlined, temporary (for how long? I don't know) Lost Dreams is here. It only took me an entire afternoon to do it. :-) So, someone let me know what you think. That's the pay off I mentioned before. The pay off from making this site comes when I get feedback, and I don't get enough of that. posted at 7:33 PM The blogger returns! I've decided to go with a blog format temporarily. I don't feel like putting in too much work into the site at the moment. I feel like there isn't too much of a payoff for all the work I've been doing lately, so this will make it easier on me to work and maintian things. Maybe I'll also start posting more. There were times when I would want to write something real quick, but didn't think it would be a good idea to write such as short journal entry. By the way, my journal and artwork haven't gone anywhere. They're still there as part of quickly modified "Butterfly Rain" design. Just scroll down and take a look at the left side of the screen to find the link. posted at 6:10 PM Wednesday, February 28, 2001 I'm about to abandon this weblog for the next design, but, before it goes, I'll do one more update. I'm updating this from my night class right now because I can. It's a computer class, so it's easy to do. That and I'm bored... posted at 6:21 PM Tuesday, February 20, 2001 There's this strange rattling sound outside. I've heard it several times a day for at least a week. It hasn't really bothered me and, unless it's really quiet, I don't really notice it. However, I've heard it over the tv a few times tonight. I have no idea what it is. It's a rattling, but it also sounds kind of squishy. Sooner or later, it's going to start to freak me out. You know, this is the middle of nowhere in south Texas. It could be a rattlesnake trapped somewhere. I'm scared to find out. posted at 11:01 PM Saturday, February 17, 2001 I suppose I shouldn't write journal entires late at night when I'm feeling really low. I almost scared myself at parts with that last entry. That state of mind isn't a good time to do anything like write things people will see. Then again, I wouldn't write anything here I didn't want anyone other than family or friends to see. I do all this for the people. Although, I'm beginning to wonder how much it's worth it going by that philosophy. I don't get enough visitors or feedback to justify that. I want groupies or people out to scrutinize my every move dammit! Oh well, guess I'm just not popular like all the other cool people. Ugh, it's high school all over again. :-) posted at 4:48 PM Wednesday, February 14, 2001 My room in becoming increasingly crowded. Ok, so my presence on the internet hasn't been felt for a few days. Rather, I haven't been present on the internet...in a way. I haven't been available for instant messenging and I haven't updated the site. I wanted to put up the new version along with a new journal entry, but I haven't written a new entry and the site will look the same for a while longer. I've found an addiction. A really powerful addiction. An online game. I can't help but playing all day and in my spare time. It's unlike anything else. You're actually playing with people from all over. I've played with players from Japan. The lines between reality and fantasy (or phantasy in this case. Phantasy Star Online) have been blurred because you're in this world as this character, except now the other characters are controlled by living people. Anyway, I'm starting to ramble. From my Live Journal: Even though I haven't used this, do you know what my favorite thing about Live Journal is? I actually like these comments that people can leave behind. It's like having your own little message board for you journal. Although, I can't help but wonder if that defeats the purpose of journalling. Since when is your life open to debate? I haven't seen any of that. Most of the stuff I've seen has been agreement and support. Maybe I should find a way to add a board into my regualar journal. Then, I fear no one would use it. I mean, hardly anyone signs my guestbook. Now I feel bad. My self-esteem is all gone after thinking about all the hard work I've done on the site. :,( Other than the ability to leave comments, Live Journal is pure evil. It's never a good thing when you question your self worth, but I felt better as the day went on. I finally put up a new artwork today. Yay! I worked on it last night until midnight. I was trying to do something else, but didn't like the way it was turning out. I did get another idea while doing it though. So, I ended up doing something different than what usually I do, which is mostly pencil drawings and sketches. I like the way it turned out and I'm glad it scanned in well. Phrase of the Day: "Ow!" I don't know what happened, but yesterday I woke up and it felt like the inside of the left side of my mouth was swollen. I've even bitten the inside of my cheek a few times. It's starting the get to the point where eating is becoming mildly painful. Every time I chew, there's a chance I could bite my cheek again. It's also starting to become a little sore in there. Earlier today, I saw someone I graduated with from high school. At least, I could swear it was her...I think. I went to put in a few bucks worth of gas and recognized one of the cars there. It was a white Mustang with a name on the rear window. I almost immidiately knew it was Veronica's car. When I was going inside the store to pay, she came out, but she looked like a guy. She was always heavy set and was even a shotputter in school, but this almost blew my mind. She was dressed in the clothes of a man. Could it be one of the people I went to school with is a hermaphrodite? Much like the song "Dude looks like a lady", this little episode could be called "Lady looks like a dude". posted at 3:39 PM Monday, January 15, 2001 I told myself I was going to get bored and restless here at home during my time off from school and, wouldn't you know it, I was right. Here I am at the last day before I start classes again and I basically am bored and restless. These past couple of days and nights, all I've done is sit around watching tv, doing things on the internet, and everything else I usually do. The gloomy weather outside doesn't help either. Anyway, I've got class at 9:30 and afterwards I'm going to have the oil changed in my car. Oh joy! Well, it'll be something different. posted at 3:08 PM Thursday, January 11, 2001 Why is it some people feel that there's a need to put up warnings or disclaimers on their personal sites? "If you know me in real life..." is a popular one. I, for one, don't see the point of it. People who know them in real life probably won't be able to find their sites in the sea of information and crap that is the internet unless they are given the url. If they do manage to find their site, that warning will make them want to see what lies beyond that main index page. Having an open mind seems to be another warning. I do have an open mind, but does it need to be a prerequisite for visiting someone's website? That warning is usually there if there's swearing on the site. You know, it's not like someone stumbled onto a site with a warning like that while looking for the something about Elmo in Grouchland. Well, that was my little disclaimer rant. If you don't like it, tough shit. Oops, I forgot to put up a warning. posted at 11:23 PM Tuesday, January 09, 2001 I thought I would go over a few of the journals I have bookmarked in my favorites. I've got nothing better to do right now except maybe sleep. Carmen's Love Story I must admit I have this one bookmarked for almost morbit purposes. This isn't one of the best journals there are. The writing isn't particularly deep and the girl is always talking about her boyfriend. The boyfriend will be leaving soon and I'm curious to see what her entries will be like then. Euphoria Laurie was kind enough to sign my guestbook a few months ago (and recently too) and I've been visiting her site since then. She has a incredibly lovely writing style. I've been in touch with her a couple of times through e-mail, so I don't feel like a total stalker visiting every now and then. *smile* Final Blindness If there's one person whose net presence I'm envious of, it has to be Sherri's. She runs the rapidly growing [blind] webring and her site seems to be incredibly popular. Since August, she has had over 6000 visitors. And here I am getting 10 (at best) day. Maybe it's a case of knowing all the right people. I know a journal is a personal thing, but I also do this for people to see...anyway, um...I like Sherri's site. Sadie's Struggle Liz was married at 16, divorced at 19, and is now getting married again (also at 19). I don't think you could write a premise for a tv show or movie better than that, but it's all real. She's a talented writer. Even if you don't know what's going on, you'll know in detail by the end of an entry. There are others on my list, but I only wanted to list a few. I also can't think of much to say about some of the others. Plus, if I listed everything, this would be incredibly long for a blog (you've gotta hate the sound of that word) entry. posted at 11:57 PM Saturday, January 06, 2001 I think I'm becoming addicted to ramen noodles. I was hungry and just ate some a few minutes ago. Then, the other night, I didn't know what else to eat and ate a couple of bowls of ramen. My dad is going to be bringing some more (in different flavors too) tomorrow when he goes to the grocery store tomorrow. Yum...more food for me. I know the stuff is loaded with sodium, but it's so good. I'll keep eating it until develop abmorally high blood pressure. posted at 11:26 PM Thursday, January 04, 2001
For no real reason, here's my current desktop and Winamp skin. ![]()
posted at 7:13 PM Wednesday, January 03, 2001 Tired, that's what I am; also a little sore. I feel the muscles in my lower back all tensed up. Yesterday, in my journal, I wrote about how I cleaned out my closet. That's part of the reason I'm tired and my back is sore. The other reason I'm tired is because I had to wake up an hour before I've gotten used to. I needed to get some blood drawn. They pricked me and it hurt. It usually doesn't hurt. :'-( At least I got a Spanish omelet bagel from McDonalds which made up for waking up early and getting pricked. Those bagels rule! posted at 5:16 PM Monday, January 01, 2001 So, I'm finally done moving. Replacing the old weblog with this was basically the last step. All of my journal entries from Envy.nu and Angelfire have been moved onto the domain. I dedided not to change the designs for them. At first it was laziness, but I thought it would be nice for people to be able to see the previous designs. Just don't laugh at how my site looked like it was straight out of a beginner's HTML tutorial in 1999. posted at 7:04 PM First post. I'm just testing this blog thing. posted at 1:34 PM
