"But the Lord reigns forever, executing judgment from his throne. He will judge the world with justice and rule the nations with fairness. The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, have never abandoned anyone who searches for you."
Psalm 9:7-10 (NLT)

It's a sad, sad Wednesday morning... I'm anxiously reading the news to see what's going to happen next. I'm still in shock over this whole tragedy. When my clock radio alarm went off this morning, the first thing I heard was, of course, about the World Trade Center... I just wanted to close my eyes and escape back into sleep. I just can't believe what has happened. And to think, I'm so far removed from the events... it still boggles my mind to imagine how terrifying it must be for people who are more directly affected by all of this.
I was thankful to see this picture. I am very moved by the international support and sympathy for the US. So many times, horrible things happen in other countries, and I get the feeling that many US citizens just go on with their lives, not really thinking too much about what it must be like for people in countries that have been attacked, because they think it could never happen to us. Well, sadly, it did happen to us. And although certain groups of people in other countries may be celebrating, I believe that most of the world is grieving with us. Thank you.

Happy birthday, Akoto... sorry it had to be on such a day... I hope you can celebrate it properly later.

I'm so emotionally worn out from watching the news and worrying... I can't even begin to imagine what a long, horrible day this has been for the people of New York and Washington DC...may the Lord be with them, and with the families and loved ones of those who were killed today. I just can't express my sadness in words.

I am so shocked and frightened by the events of this morning... My prayers go out for those who have lost their lives, for those who have been injured, for anyone affected by this tragedy... I am so worried about my friends who live in the vincinity of the attacks... please be all right...
What's going to happen now? This is horrifying...

How troubling... I was thinking about my year in Japan, and suddenly I realized that small details were slipping away from me. For some reason, I wanted to remember the name of the biggest shopping mall in Ube, that I used to bicycle over to on lazy Sundays... they had a movie theatre, bowling alley, and a Mr. Donut. (mmm... butter crunch) But I couldn't for the life of me remember the name of the mall. So I just spent about ten minutes on the Lawson's website, using their city search feature to locate the mall I was trying to remember. It took a while, because once I got to the close-up view of Ube, I couldn't quite remember where the mall was located. How could I forget?! Sigh.
I did finally find it-- Fuji Grand!!! But I can't believe the name and location have just faded out of my memory. I wish there was some way to etch every last detail of that year into my mind. I can't stand that I'm forgetting things. It's been a little over a year since I left, so I guess it's understandable... but it's sad, all the same. Zooming closer in, I located my neigbourhood, Shima ni-chome, and the exact street, even building where I used to live... how nostalgic.
It would be hot and humid this time of year, with the cicadas still buzzing away... the sky is probably be overcast. It'll be another month until the air chills and turns crisp. Then the leaves will display their brilliant colours, and the faint smell of smoke from burning crops will fill the air. And after that, the temperature dips to almost freezing, and the kotatsu becomes a daily refuge from the cold. Then, little by little, warmth creeps back in, and the cherry blossoms make their brief appearance. After that, the heat presses down, and the cycle starts all over again. I still miss it sometimes...

Yay, the weekend is almost here already! Short weeks are the best! Our friends want to go clubbing in LA on Saturday night... ummmm... that's so not me right now! I don't think we'll go. I used to go clubbing quite often, but only in Orange County. LA clubs would intimidate me! I guess I'm just turning into a boring almost-married person, but I think I'd rather stay in and spend a relaxing evening at home. Maybe if we're feeling impetuous, we'll open a bottle of wine and make use of our pretty new wine glasses... *giggles* Oh yes, we're just crazy! There's probably a few too many nights where we "make it a Blockbuster night" nowadays, but oh well... I'm happy! ^_^
Before I go, I must say that Colette's photo page is sooooo cute... she has the best facial expressions! Cute cute cute. ^__^

Ooooooh. Brendan Fraser's website is up! Sophisticated, unique design, and even some personal touches. Check out his photography... wow... not only is he a talented actor, but an artistic photographer as well? I'm impressed... *^^*
Don't worry, Glorious! I still like you better!! ^_- *smooch*
