Wednesday, August 15, 2001i think that i must also vote in favour of dissolution, given the stagnation of the last three to four months and the steady decline of the spring. it is not the nature of some things to live forever, and in its own time, Revolution! Forthcoming served its purpose. But now that many of the critical common denominators which tied R!F together are gone (high school, namely), it is probably better to have good memories than a dead present reality.on the other hand, i hope everyone here keeps up their personal blog pages in the future... they might even be able to tie us together better than what remains of R!F (if they are updated that is... :) ) : : : Vladimir Komarov : : : 2:55 AM hey fellow revolutionaries. it seems as if this place (Rev! Forth) has been falling apart these past few months... well, okay. it HAS been falling apart. i didn't wanna admit it, but if you compare our posts now to the ones we had the first few months of this project, you can see that the momentum and enthousiasm that was there in the beginning has runned out by now. and, with all of us going our separate ways, off to college and such, i doubt this place could be revived... so, here's a proposition... let's say goodbye to this place and conclude the Revolution! Forthcoming webproject. mothball it and archive it on our own harddrives/webpages, for us to look back on on our time. personally, i've had a lot of fun being a part of this project with you guys. it was a cool idea... having a place for us to all talk about stuff important to us at the same time, just staying connected to one another. being part of an "underground" project, secretly posting "Rev! forthcoming" advertisements in wannamaker's, binky's, peterson's. fighting against school censorship of mud nipples. vouching for our fav. prez candidate.... but, alas, the end is the beginning is the end. and the beginning it is... college and a whole new life. so, what do the rest of you think? i think if half of the ppl agree, then that's enough to call this quits. : : : the way öf haowei : : : 2:42 AM Monday, August 13, 2001good luck to everyone in college... keep in touch...: : : Vladimir Komarov : : : 11:42 PM Saturday, August 04, 2001hahahah... this is bizarre, but it is funny: More than one day in the life of Igor Igoravich: The real story of the early Cold War, Kennedy, and Khrushchev. Chekh it out.: : : Vladimir Komarov : : : 10:23 PM Tuesday, July 24, 2001exactly, Branden, exactly...{im not done with this. but i am going to talk about stem cells. OK?) : : : flame of bekah : : : 5:51 PM Thursday, July 19, 2001Yes... that is very frustrating, how some people try to localise global problems... It's kind of like how many American politicians (including our beloved president) object to the Kyoto Treaty because it is a "flawed accord which will damage the US economy...". Yah, and this only concerns the US too. Fossil fuel emissions coming from US industry realise how unfair it would be that they should affect other, more environmentally-concious nations, and they stop at the borders of US airspace. And if the sea levels rise, they are only going to flood American beaches, not those of the Mediterranean, or East Asia, or Africa. And now President Bush is trying to sell "free trade" to the rest of the world, so that these same American corporations can stretch their legs into other countries' back yards. Why is it that, of all the developed, industrialised democracies which exist, the one which is the most globally irresponsible is "leading" the world?: : : Vladimir Komarov : : : 11:56 PM Sunday, July 15, 2001The way folks are approaching offshore drilling really drives me crazy. Read the article. They treat it like it should only matter to Floridians, like if spills occur it only affects those in the immediate area. A mon avis, the situation is muchmuch larger than that. People want too often to separate the problem from the rest of the world, but things that, ohidontknow, affect the environment have a way of snowballing. The butterfly that flaps its wings in Africa...So there's something. Let's hope we can keep the controversy up around here. Maybe when school starts. In the meantime I recommend Neilbortz. A swig of that mess will getyougoing. : : : flame of bekah : : : 3:28 PM Friday, June 29, 2001allow me also to plug "The POE Project" or "Corn on the Macabre". i saw it lastnight and it was hilarious !now onto to-day's topic:can you believe this? too bad i wont be living in ATL anymore. i wish though i knew what "light rail" means exactly. is that more "subway" (MARTA) or what? cos right now these transit projects look good. : : : flame of bekah : : : 4:40 PM Monday, June 18, 2001my blog is up (finally)... my webpage doesn't have a lot on it as yet, but it's on the internet now.: : : Vladimir Komarov : : : 4:59 PM Sunday, June 17, 2001If you don't mind, I'm going ot use this blog to plug a show. Park and I have written a play, and we are directing and producing it. We rented a theater on the Marietta Square, and the show will run every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening from June 28 through July 21. It's called "The POE Project" or "Corn on the Macabre". As you may already have guessed, it is a comic adaptation of works by Edgar Allen Poe. TJ and Lee are in it, as well as many other talented actors from the Marietta/Smyrna region. If you want more information, contact me or Park. Thank you very much.: : : Jnk ees : : : 10:49 PM Tuesday, June 12, 2001every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.it's been a few weeks since graduation, and the idea of leaving his is finally sinking in. man, it's over. it's really over. and yes, i'm a bit sad that another chapter of my life has ended, cuz i know these past four years have been so important to me. i've grown so much, experienced so many things, developed so many relationships. and all that has passed away, so that another part of my life could begin.... away from home, away from the familiar, away from the reminants of my former self and world. yes, we've all graduated and will in all likelihood drift farther and farther apart, but that just means new things are ahead and waiting for us to experience them, to explore them, to seize them and make the best out if it. and that's life, eh? i'm so glad i'm done with hs. this summer will be spent concluding the old to prepare for the new. i'm going back to taiwan, my birthplace, for a month, to rediscover who i am and such, with a few of my closest friends, those with whom i grew up after immigrating here. i will return refreshed and more ready to take on college. once again, best of luck, mes amis. may life treat you kindly =) : : : the way öf haowei : : : 3:19 AM i'd have to say that i thought of graduation more as an ending than a beginning... after all, the only common denominator of everyone who participated in graduation was high school, etc., which was coming to a close... and the focus of the ceremony was primarily on what had happened, rather than what was to happen. it could also represent a beginning (for some people)... but that's much more nebulous... the lives of the graduates diverge from that point on, so it's a different beginning for each one, whilst the ending is the same... hehe... Bush is in Europe now... probably not his favourite part of the world, since in most likely every nation in Europe he would have lost an election in a massive landslide. : : : Vladimir Komarov : : : 2:22 AM but i think that it really is more of a beginning than an end... i certainly felt no sadness in the cessation of my highschool career... and i love what you just said, Jason... i just found this wondrous game on my hardrive... cant believe the pops ne'er told me about it... called Bushula... you can paste all sorts of fun monstrousities Frankensteinstyle onto a body with a "vote Bush" pin and then press "animate" and he says these things: "fuzzy logic" sorry about the recent and futures Rebekahlapses occuring all over the inertnet... : : : flame of bekah : : : 1:33 AM Saturday, June 09, 2001i found it funny that graduation exercises -- signifying the end of high school -- are called commencement.: : : Vladimir Komarov : : : 4:08 PM Thursday, June 07, 2001It is neither. There is no end and no beginning, only transition. The old does not die, but is reused; the new is not created, but formed from the old.: : : Jnk ees : : : 12:19 AM Wednesday, June 06, 2001sigh... is this the beginning is the end is the beginning?: : : the way öf haowei : : : 12:55 PM Saturday, June 02, 2001Hello? Is anybody there?: : : Jnk ees : : : 12:50 PM |     |
