Up The VillaWell, this is my first log. I'm sure it wont take you long to get irritated with my rantings, ramblings and biased opinions towards the villa. But what the hell, we are after all the most interesting club in the world and im sure if we all stick at it, it wont be long before we are the best club in the world. Anyway, time for my first rant. England, Southgate, Adams!, Campbell!! and 70's porn star KeeganSo Shearer gives up, and the captains armband is available again. Keegan reckons Adams is the best choice, followed by Campbell. I was worried about this when England played Argentina and Shearer once again showed us his devestating international goalscoring in another thrilling 0-0 draw. To say i was shocked when Ol' Dirty Bastard came off and gave the armband to campbell, is an understatement. What has he done so far to achieve this. He ranks up with Ferdinand and Woodgate in the overrated defenders stakes, and has nothing in leadership qualities when compared to Southgate, who has repeatedly put his reputation on the line for club and country, and shows more passion than any other centre-back i have seen. When have you ever seen Campbell or any one else punching the air and screaming COME ON!!!! after a 1-0 league win. Victory and hardwork means more to Southgate than anything else, and its about time England had someone who is capable of transfering this to the other half-arsed bunch. When you look at Southgate you see quality, integrity, passion, bravery and experience. Which of these do you see in Campbell, to the players he is just another member of the team. So, on to the other one, Adams. I see a lot of similiarities between Southgate and Adams and find it difficult to argue with his selection. But, are we not talking about the FUTURE captain of England. With Adams injury record and his age how often can you expect him to be available and how long till we once again need to choose another captain. In addition to the previously mentioned qualitys of Southgate, he also offers longevity above Adams. So, here i go, my first log and my first campaign. Southgate for England captain. Who's with me? COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
