hardly anybody argues with me anymore when i order an iced doppio in a grande cup, then proceed to add my very own milk. there was a time when a store on eighth ("8"th) avenue would give me a hard time and try to restrict my usage of the milk. their logic was faulty. sometimes i even order three ("3") or four ("4") shots.

i had some damn lousy coffee last night at the dry dog, or the gray dog, or the golden dog pony, or whatever the hell that place was called on carmine street. i had four ("4") shots and i woke up during the night feeling ill. i also woke up this morning feeling kind of ill, and actually entertained the thought of having pepperming tea this morning instead of my usual pot of espresso. i drank some water and had coffee. i didn't drink as much coffee as usual today because of my ill feelings.
aside from such ill feelings, the taste was not that good. tasted kind of like dirt.

on sunday, i had an iced doppio with milk in a grande cup. it was so good. i now think of starbucks as a treat and not as a daily staple. this is not a purely economical statement, however. it's more like, i just don't have the same lust i used to have. i make really good coffee at home now with my little stovetop espresso machine and fancy illy espresso. being unemployed has really changed my life.
