la la la, life goes on. that's all i have to say about that.
posted 8/19/2001 02:25:51 AMit's true: some people are only alive because it's illegal to kill them. there are, in fact, quite a few people alive in charm city tonight because pedestrians have the right of way - even if they are complete morons. children, four of them, on bicycles today, no regard for the law or the dozen or so cars that crossed their path. i almost hit them, then i watched as several other cars almost hit them, as our daring cyclists pedaled down the middle of the street, into oncoming traffic (on the main thoroughfare) and then back into the middle of the street. i said to myself, it's a good thing i don't have kids because i would have killed them already. next comes the guy at the stoplight, who is so busy checking for his right-on-red privilege - while halfway into the intersection - that he doesn't even realize the red is now green. snaps awake, hits the gas and almost hits a pedestrian, only to stop and double park about five feet from the red light. this, of course, forced me and the three or four motorists behind me to make sudden darting motions with our automobiles, almost piling up right there on broadway. now, jackass behind me is acting as if the whole thing is my fault, and i'm trying to pull into a parking spot while giving him dirty looks - normally i would have ignored it, but the drive home set me on edge. i turn to see that i have almost hit a child. i feel no remorse for almost hitting him, as he was walking in the street, across the head-in parking spaces. right next to the sidewalk. it says it right there in the name: it's a side, and you walk.
posted 4/19/2001 12:46:04 AM this site is utterly ridiculous. it's not because i'm a pagan, and not because i'm against christianity - i speak against it because i've seen what evil self-proclaimed christians bring on in the world. i don't hate jesus, and that is exactly why i hate this site. jesus, if alive today, would never do something like this. he would never teach hate, as this site is bent on doing. wasn't it he who said, ' turn the other cheek'? or did i dream that? yes, i realize that i have hated christians the past, and probably still do on some level, and i've used my site to vent that hatred. i'm learning, though, that hatred is wrong for any reason. do i seem to be excusing myself by saying that i've never devoted the whole site to that hatred? well, i haven't. and more than excusing myself, i think i point out my blasts because i see that i'm guilty of the same thing, and thereby a hypocrite. i hate that. i want to live the wiccan rede: and it harm none, do as you will. is it hypocritical to want everyone else to do the same? and would i be without a website if they did - er, the reason for a website?
posted 3/21/2001 12:04:18 AM interestingly enough, this post can be tied into the last post, which was almost a month ago to the hour. andy williams's lawyers were granted a continuation so they could research whether or not they could prevent him from being tried as an adult. why would anyone want to? they should string his ass up for murder, attempted murder (which is still murder, for all intents and purposes), assault with a deadly weapon, and throw in my favourite of recent months: use of a gun in the commission of a crime. did you know that, at least in maryland, you can get 20 years for using a gun in the commission of a crime? that's more than this kid will probably end up facing, and he actually killed two people and intended to kill more. all we hear anymore is how kids are forced to grow up too fast these days, but you rarely hear about kids actually having to take responsibility for their actions. they certainly think they're adults. treat him as he wants to be treated - a big bad adult - and make him act the part.
posted 3/7/2001 11:47:41 PM am i just crazy, or shouldn't attempted murder be counted as murder? you tried, right? just because you did a shoddy job at killing someone you intended to kill - well, the intention and the effort were there, weren't they? in fact, not only should these would-be murderers be put to death, they should also stand before a group of 3rd graders shouting, "you couldn't doooooo-ooo it, you're a stupid loooo-oooser! you-ooooo suuu-uck!" in other news... if i were this city, "charm city", i would be gagging and puking up a lot of inhabitants right about now. a police officer allegedly plants drugs on a burlgary suspect, the state's attorney gives up on the prosecution, and it pisses off the mayor. he launches into a profanity-laden tirade about it, which translated into some sort of hate-crime against women and blacks, or black women. i don't know. what i do want to know is why everything that happens in this city has to be some sort of racial attack. maybe to draw away from the fact that the city is falling apart, piece by piece, and no one is interested in saving it.
posted 2/8/2001 11:29:02 PM i swear, if i get called 'michelle' one more time, i'm going to come uncorked. how hard is it to remember 'melissa' over 'michelle', especially when you consider my name is plastered on my cubicle 'wall'?? a minor problem, indeed, but still a pain in the ass. yes, the neighbors are still driving my crazy, and i'm not one who likes children. however, when i see them on the street, they're the ones i worry about most. there must be seven or eight of them living up there - children, i mean - in an apartment in the city. as much as i would like to string their parents up, i actually found myself feeling bad about the kids today. still, i think their parents are trying to drive me out so that they can crowd even more people into this building. och, something has got to give!
posted 2/6/2001 12:50:33 AM i hate to belabour the point (actually, belabouring the point is a great talent of mine), but how many friggin' times does a person have to complain to the landlord and/or call the cops on sorry-ass neighbors before something is done about it? i got my receipt from the certified letter back in the mail today, so i know they landlord got the letter on thursday. i tried to take a nap when i came home from work today, but these animals were running up and down the back stairwell. i tried not to get too upset about it, as it sounded like they were moving furniture - dare to dream that they might just have gotten themselves evicted, eh? allen went outside to check it out, and apparently it was just a silly little dream. they're never going to leave, and i'm strapped for cash. i don't want to leave my cheap little apartment, which i have actually come to not hate so much, and dammit, i don't think i should be the one to move. what the hell else can i do, though?
posted 1/30/2001 09:30:44 PM how ridiculous are these teen movies going to get? more disturbing: are these movies a true reflection of how teenagers view their world? we had "the breakfast club", and they have "dude, where's my car?" if what i believe about reincarnation is true, i certainly chose a strange time to come back as me. then again, it's probably the same for everyone in the world, aging and remembering all the things that shaped you when you were in your silly putty stage.
not that i'm out of my silly putty stage, but i'm not supposed to admit that. i'm supposed to have it all figured out - what i want, what makes me happy. i don't. i'm a big bag of confusion.
