Ignasi de Sola-Morales Rubio is dead ... of a heart attack today. May his lack of architectural performance on earth reverse itself after Judgment Day.

We (AiB + Carles + Charmaine) are starting over (as they, good moderns, say), with one week left to do a whole project (many, many documents), a fee barely below six figures on the line, a contractual duty and a non-reputation to fulfil, on the basis that:1. We like to work.
2. We are cocky (we will have one of the better projects BCN has seen, if
we build it).
3. We can do it.
4. We love to work.
5. We could be suicidal.
6. We are fucking good.
6. Dada.alpha is going to sleep, dreaming of a rough week ahead.
PS: If anyone feels like coming over and helping, I'll feed you and house you

The Office is ferociously working on finishing the schematic design proposal for the Aquaterrari (w/ Carles Muro + Charmaine Lay) - comissioned by Barcelona Regional; a competition for an urban center in La Massana, Andorra and a single-family house in Hostalric. We are beginning to smell spring in Barcelona.

The Aviary project (by title, a terrarium really) that we were commissioned (with Carles Muro and Charmaine Lay) for the 2004 Forum is underway. You can read more about the 2004 Forum (pdf's in English, Catalá) from BCN2004. You can also see a plan of the Besos area . Other winners include Herzog + De Meuron, MVRDV, Abalos + Herreros, Josep Lluis Mateo, Foreign Office Architects and Conxita Balcells. As far as BCNYCTWN, the documentation is mostly ready. Beautiful day in BCN today. Duchamp is still asleep. AiB is not.

AiB News page going on the air. A lot of things going on in rainy Barcelona tonight. We are working on the Aviary we won with Carles Muro and Charmain Lay for the Forum des Cultures 2004. We shall be posting multiple links to related pages on this subject in the days to come. Additionally, BCNYCTWN, an ambitious platform between AiB, Ed Keller at Columbia University, Leslie Shih in Taiwan (and other entities), shall be launching soon. Check AIBMAT.COM for updates on this. Rain ON.
