distant echoes of love lie cautiously
beyond the now setting sun...

9.4.01:
if you were to control my thoughts, or at least have a slight psychic insight into my brain's inner workings, perhaps you would entice me to let go of my cautious tendencies or maybe tell me when i'll finally be able to do so.

i am moving to philadelphia in less than two weeks. i'd be lying if i said that i wasn't scared. luckily, the excitement i am feeling can usually overpower any nerves that threaten to linger.

a brisk chill has been making its way back into normal evening settings; coincidentally, this autumnal reminder began occurring the night august turned to september.

i used to love september when i was a kid because i would get to buy all sorts of school supplies and i really did get that feeling that it was a fresh start, unlike the make-believe one i find myself forced to feel on new year's day. i'd go into school with my backpack filled with new pens, blank notebooks just waiting to be drawn in, folders with colorful designs, and all sorts of things that immediately lost their luster when i fell into the routine that school had always seemed to give to me.

last autumn, i did not eat enough candy corn.

i've been getting some interesting emails/requests lately, and while i do feel terrible about the lack of updates and bizarre list postings, i must confess that i don't understand why so many of you see fit to ask me what i look like, when my pics are on the site. however, last weekend, despite the usual debauchery, i was camera happy. so here are a few new pictures to make this all better...:

  • ericalynn no. 1,
  • my wonderful friend carol and i late night,
  • the huggable jon and i, also late night,
  • and me and my favorite russian -- you've guessed it -- late at night.

    xoxo.
