If I weighed eighty pounds less I'd look like Justin from N'sync.

5.30.00- Like the Prodigal Son I Return...

I have not been keeping up with my posting, and I appologize. I have been busy this week. I went to the HFStival, which is the big annual rock concert we have around these parts. I have also been working with a cat named Dan Briggs to put together a CD of his music. I have managed, without much forethought, to turn my computer into a mini-recording studio. So, earlier this week, Dan and I sat down and transfered his music from his master tapes onto my computer, we then adjusted the volume and equalization to get it to sound the way he wanted. Once everything had been adjusted properly, we burnt a copy of the music onto a CD. I've been mass-producing them ever since. I should have the first run of 90 done by the end of the week.

His music is really spectacular. His technique is similar to that of Beck. Some songs are techno-boogie inspired, while others are mellow acoustic guitar melodies. They all flow together to create an amazing sound. He's going to be big, and I fully plan on riding his coattails for all it's worth. I'll put a sample of his music up as soon as I get his permission.

More posting later, I promise.

5.22.00- School's winding down

I had my fourth of five finals today. My last test is Wednesday at 1pm. Once that is successfully completed I will be free for the summer. Free from school at least. I have a huge credit card debit (closing in on 4 figures) to work off, plus I need to save money for next school year. It looks like I've landed a job doing furniture inventories at offices around DC. The pay is good, and I don't have to interact with customers, making the job twice a valuable as the pay suggests.

My school schedule for next year is beginning to shape up. Once I was admitted into the Visual Arts department I went through a quick whirlwind advising session. I normally pride myself on my high retention of information, but when my advisor whipped through what I should and shouldn't be taking, and mapped out my life for the next four semesters I only caught about 10% of it. Luckily, I can always go back and hope to retain another 10 percent.

This is not a weblog. This a web-based diary. Boring. I came to this realization after reading diatribes about the lack of quality blogs on Ben Brown and Blueblog via Andy. They all point out that no good weblog is an island. Weblogs should link, link, link. My weblog has existed as an island up until this point. The only way to get the word out, and gain eyeballs, as it were, is to interconnect yourself into the global mosaic. I'm not a explorer, I'm far from a cybernetic Magellon. I have my comfortable online atolls and inlets that I visit with startling regularity. I need to expand my need for adventure, and expand I shall.
