Needless to say, The Rock Coaches won't be playing at this year's initially scheduled CMJ festival. We won't be at the postposed CMJ festival in October either, I am sorry to say. It breaks our hearts more than it does yours, trust us. -- Seth Grad Party and I have decided to use our time off of work to play a genuine mini-tour in the not-too-distant future. We apologize in advance to any state that isn't Florida, Alabama, Georgia, a Carolina, or a District of Columbia. Thank you for listening.

Quick update: We finished mixing Monday night. We're currently listening to the mixes and making decisions about the arrangement of the songs on the album. The word on the street is that practice for the show next week is planned.

My goal for tracking was met. We finished with 3 hours to spare yesterday. Unfortunately, the tape we bought for mixing was defective (DO NOT BUY ANALOG TAPE FROM GUITAR CENTER). No big deal. We'll just mix to DAT and go from there. Hopefully, we'll finish mixing all 12 tracks today. That's all for now.

Man. Tomorrow is gonna be tough... a test of skill, endurance, and willpower. My personal goal is for us to be done tracking by 7 PM on Sunday. That will give us about 12 hours for mixing. It can be done. We have the technology. Just like Chicago says, "If you see me walking by, and the tears are in my eye.... look away. Baby, look away." In other words, I am slowly getting into that state of concentration that only drummers understand. I mean, no one understands me like you do, Miss Jackson. That's right, I'm nasty.

As you may know, The Rock Coaches in all its forms will be recording during Labor Day weekend. And I have a few predictions about the session:

1) My favorite song will be The Song Nel Never Wrote. A complete underdog. Don't worry, I didn't see it coming either.
2) I will develop a crush on our studio photographer, Megan.
3) We will get pissed at Ed the Engineer because he'll say "It's just a rehearsal" and mean it.
4) Seth will break five drumsticks and even more hearts with New York & Glass.

I just wanna know one thing......

Why the fuck is it that whenever I search on Morpheus for Chicago (the band), "Can't Fight This Feeling" shows up? Don't get me wrong, I love that song. It's actually the theme song to a crush I had in 4th grade. That, however, is irrelevant. The point is, that song is an REO SPEEDWAGON song. So to those of you who are responsible for this error, consider this to be your first and FINAL warning.... If I see it happen again, I'm sticking a virus on your computer. Don't think I can do it? Think again.

Also, practice with SLNP and Mars Hottentot is going great. Three practices per week! We should be ready for recording next month.

Please note that the following song titles have changed:

1) The Locust is now called The Maddest Bassist Plays The Wussiest Music; Yeah, We're Talking About You, Josh Dodes Bassist!

2) Money To You is now called You Booked Yourself To Open For Fugazi; You're Gay.

We regret nothing. Thank you.
