I think I need to write something here so's that I don't seem like a depressing hack. I wrote 9 reviews yesterday, all in all I'm quite proud of it. Inverse will owe me money yet. For those of you keeping track, I'm up to 47 reviews total, not bad for a spare time project, and 8 months, I don't think. If I keep on schedule, I should meet and exceed my goal of 50 reviews before January 1st.

I think I finally decided that I want to make movies for a living. Now there's the matter of actually doing it. I've got a couple ideas for a movie, so maybe I'll get organized enough to where I can actually get it down on paper. I got a Handspring Visor for Christmas, so maybe that will help things.. ;)

As for other things going on, there's not too much. Chris is in New Zealand right now, so I've been a little lonely, but she did end up calling me last night, which was nice, even if it wasn't for very long.. It'll be nice when she gets home in two weeks..

you need help...

While I spend another lonely weekend night, I could only think of how pitiful it must be, but can't feel sorry for myself, for it must be just me. While not filled with self-loathing, I still feel the need to write about it here, so it must mean something. I think it may be perhaps depression. While still not knowing what the hell I want to do, I can't help but feel as though I'm wasting away, slowly forgotten, even by those around me. Next on the list, be bored, watch the same old movie yet again, while life speeds by. Safety in stuff..

you know.. I just realized my current situation at the office (which is when I don't get to work at home) is much like Milton in Office Space, stuck here in the corner. Using an iMac as my main computer, I realize how much I hate the puck mouse and munchkin keyboard... "set the building on fire..."

woohoo! I just got a couple new speakers (JBL N26's, if you're interested) to replace my rear channel speakers, and they're awesome. The clarity of sound is just amazing.. Those folks over at JBL really seem to know what they're doing.. Now if I could only afford a Sony Wega XBR... In other news, the movie reviews page has been updated to tables. I've gotten quite a few DVDs over the past couple weeks, and hope to be getting reviews up soon. I may start reviewing the actual DVD's as well, since I seem to be rating them as I get them on DVD.

well, here are the impressions I was talking about.. this is a tough one to put my finger on, for I had grown quite used to the name Dolphin for the new Nintendo (which was the name of the project), I think gamecube is quite alright, better than starcube at least.. The design is quite striking, though I'm not sure why (for pictures of the system and controller, go here.. I think part of the problem is that it looks like a purse with the handle and all.. The controller, however, I'm worried about. If you haven't looked at the pictures, do so, it's quite strange. to be honest, I like the mock-ups that those crazy guys over at IGN came up with (see the best one here). However, everyone hated the Nintendo 64 controller when it first came out, so I can't say much until I get one in my hands.. Wouldn't it be cool to get the Apple G4 Cube, and one of these? well.. maybe not, but.. ya know.. The games look absolutely spectacular, apparently all the shots here are done real time by the hardware, and perhaps Nintendo actually is running it off of the game hardware this time. Since rumour has it some software people actually have development kits, I think we're seeing the real deal. Above all, Nintendo has corrected just about every single mistake they made with the N64..

where to start..apparently there's a big hub-bub going on about the finale of Survivor (the CBS show I haven't seen more than five minutes of, but everyone seems to be infatuated with). In regards to the WtWTA toys, McFarlane toys is also doing toys for Akira, South Park, and an Edward Scissorhands toy, with discussions on the table about doing H.R. Giger toys.. and here I was finally getting my toy problem under control..
In other issues, Ralph Nader seems to have a pretty good platform for his presidential race, too bad he doesn't have a chance of winning. I'm fearful enough of George W Bush winning that I'm more than likely voting for Gore.. :(

well.. I've been at the new job for about a week and a half now, and am loving it. It's really nice to finally be doing something entirely different than what I've been doing the last two years. I watch Office Space almost obsessively these days.. is that really so wrong? I've also seen Titus lately.. that is a pretty incredible piece of work. I need to write a review on it.. I think that's enough of an update right now. One last thing, having to pay to get your car fixed sucks!
