Un état d'esprit? The can-do high tech spirit

Quelques problèmes de la CIA et du FBI, évoqués en juillet dans Atlantic Monthly:The Counterterrorist Myth Extrait: "The CIA probably doesn't have a single truly qualified Arabic-speaking officer of Middle Eastern background who can play a believable Muslim fundamentalist who would volunteer to spend years of his life with shitty food and no women in the mountains of Afghanistan. For Christ's sake, most case officers live in the suburbs of Virginia. We don't do that kind of thing." Via WSJ's Best of the Web poste par emmanuelle richard a 4:21 PM

Et désolée pour la désertion/ sorry for not responding to many e-mails this week.

Marines getting ready
My neighbor Savannah's nephew, a young and vibrant Marine, just told us he's starting training on Monday and will probably be sent to Afghanistan within 2 months. Everywhere, kids are getting ready. His mom looked freaked out.

Virginia Postrel links to the account of escape from the WTC building 7 by a young Pakistani who owes his life to a Hasidic Jew. This kind of accounts make Wired say: Amateur Newsies Top the Pros poste par emmanuelle richard a 2:58 PM

Sale Coup
