"The Price of Liberty is Eternal Vigilance."

For some reason I was very lucky this week. By Tuesday evening I had accounted for all of my close family and friends in the New York area, unfortunately many were not so lucky. I'd like to express my grief and sorrow for all of those who have lost their lives as well as their grieving families. In addition I stand in awe of those heroes currently working day and night in nightmarish conditions in the desperate hope of saving lives.

This is a time for all Americans to unite like at no time since we last squared off against, and defeated, evil 60 years ago. How small our petty political differences seem today and how true those words that we reflexively, if not reflectively, repeated each morning in grade school: "One nation, under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all."

I have the utmost faith in our leaders, our people, and our allies to do everything in our power to, once again, find and extinguish those who would destroy our way of life and all we hold dear. God Bless America.

I soon plan to post an account of my day and response to this tragedy. I'd also like to have a section on this page dedicated to stories from others related to September 11 2001. Please e-mail me at mjkahn99@yahoo.com.
