Oh, despite my band woes, what a band nerd I turn out to be. Currently listening to Freedom Battle, which is our marching show's opener.

I rented Ephemeral Fantasia today for the sake of renting a PS2 rpg-ish.. thing. A lot of stuff about it bugs me, like camera angles and character designs, but most of all, lack of shadows. I just realized that's what annoys me the most. *shrug* I got to drive around a lot today, too. And sit around. It seems like a good day for a football game.

Yeah, so.. the cookies I made the other day were bad 'cause the Crisco was old. So I made a new batch today with butter, and they're much better. This week was supposed to be so overwhelming in the way of band. Tuesday's rehearsal and open house was cancelled, Thursday's rehearsal was the crappiest because we were lazy and pissed off at each other, and the rehearsals and football game for today and tomorrow have been cancelled as well. Our first competition is in just over 20 days and we still have the drill of the last movement to learn. They keep trying to motivate us by saying that band is a place where we can all be together and feel good about ourselves, which to me is just.. unbearable in itself. If only their happy/optimistic attitudes didn't make me want to.. not be around them. I really don't know what I'm doing in the top band. I'm going to fall apart just because of myself.

The day went on as usual. Not even really an inkling of anything related to the Trade Center. It's weird to think that there's so much devastation up north. People have died, are dying, will die as a result of this, in more ways than one.. and I got home from school today and made cookies. And I'm worrying about interims and band music and taking medicine and all these trivial things in life that can be snuffed out entirely in as short a time as it takes to blink.

Wow. All I wished for was rain so band practice would be cancelled.. and we got a terrorist attack. Just watching it all during second hour made me nauseous. You could even see the second tower sway before it fell and the people falling out.. contrasting the scene of others just walking calmly as the towers collapsed. It almost seems like it didn't really happen.

Listening to System of a Down - Chop Suey. Oof. x_o Went to the dermatologist today (got to miss half of band! woohoo!) and discovered that for the past few months I have had a.. *insert ominous music here* bacterial infection! Eew! I'm just ever so sure you all needed to know that. So I get to take some nice antibiotic called Zithromax for five days and use topical Erythromycin for however long until the prescription runs out. That was the extent of my day.

I heard they abolished early release days. Which actually is a great thing, considering that on early release days band usually rehearses longer. Plus there's a sectional this week until 7pm, pass-offs to do, and tomorrow is the Open House, which we must stay to play for. Tsk. Do they think our entire high school lives revolve around band? Yes, that and figuring out how to leave the school parking lot. :P
