Yesterday was rough. Two of the most visible skyscrapers in New York are reduced to chunks of concrete and shards of glass. The impenetrable fortress of the Pentagon has been compromised, and so has our feeling of safety.

There is hope. America is strong. This whole thing just woke a sleeping beast. Instead of instilling fear and chaos, this will bring unity and strength.

"The Lord is my light and my salvation-- whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life-- of whom shall I be afraid? ...Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident." Psalm 27:1, 3

It's been a long time since i posted last. things have been REALLY hectic. I got married on may 27th, went on an incredible honeymoon, and got home the second week of june - still unemployed, and time to get back to the daily grind.

not much of a "grind" to get back to.

maybe i'll make sense of this freelance thing sometime soon.

For those of you who actually read this thing... I'm really OK.
I know this stuff will pass soon.. May 27th isn't all that far
away and the nice folks Georgia Department of Labor are subsidizing my
time off with that hard-earned unemployment check every week...

I keep telling myself "It'll pass..." It will - but life is just a series of
challenges & crises and something else will come to take the place of
my present set of challenges.

So what will I have to show for all the heartache & headache of the next
3 weeks? Someone to share it all with. That makes it worthwhile. I'll have
a brand new apartment, a wonderful man to call my husband and hopefully
a new job to go with it all. It's funny how wonderful things come from really
trying circumstances.

I've made up my mind - whatever comes, however the day goes, on May 27th I
will enjoy every single minute - to the pampering, the attention, the ceremony,
the uncomfortable shoes, the bad dance music, the good food (if i get to eat) and
the presence of my friends, family and most of all my new husband. I will
not let any moment pass me by because I'm worried. I won't be worried. I won't
fuss about how I look or how the tables are presented or how the flower girl
keeps pulling up her dress... I will cherish each smile, handshake, sloppy kiss,
cheezy gift and tear on this day.

God is good - all the time.

wheew.

There will be a time where things will calm down, i know it.
I just have to be patient... right?

Surely there are better things ahead - I just can't see beyond what I'm stuck in right now.
It's insane.
one thing after another and no rest in between.
crisis runs into crisis and I'm worn thin.
I need a vision of what's to come, because I can't move.

I feel like i'm stuck in a dream - one where I'm scared to death of
whatever's in front of me but I can't scream - my voice is gone.
I can't move - my legs are frozen.
I can only stand there and stare at the things i fear most...

I know there's something past all this.
I can't see it, can't feel it, but I know it's there.
God help me please to see what's to come....

Yet another day at Viant... the axe swings and hacks at 40% of the company.
and i'm right in it's path.

So this makes two.

maybe I should try something else?

It's been almost 2 weeks since I've been off the NASCAR.com project. I'm still recovering. Thinking of the project makes me consider another less stressful job.... like dirt farming.
