From Greg's Head....

I just watched this really interesting documentary, American Movie. It is an extremely well put together message about following your dreams. It gave me a sense of respect for people in general. Dreams can be large or small and people can be close to them or still far away, but striving for them in any way is part of being a real person. I reccomend giving this a try and being a little patient with it. An interesting side note about the film is that Michael Stipe actually co-produced it.

Have you ever been to South America? My friend Jake went a while back. Check out what he saw along with some witty commentary about Brazil. This makes me anxious to head South again. I went to Peru and Chile last December. Maybe someday I will have some pictures to show you here.

God Damn DSL is fast!
My DSL connection is back on after an embarassingly long hiatus. My roommate's computer crashed months ago and with it the DSL went. After his attempts to restore the DSL connection, he assured me that we had to have someone from PacBell come out and fix it. This never seemed right to me, but I believed him. Anyway, I never could get around to scheduling the PacBell guy to come out and time just kept slipping away. Tonite I sat down and l tried to see what I could do. After all, I am an engineer. In less than an hour, tadaaaa! I'm talking to you......

So, I just watched part of the finale of the Survivor series. I actually didn't watch any previous episodes and so I was kind of lost. The one thing I kept thinking about was the concept of the show; I thought it was kind of eerie. Does anyone remember the book and movie by Stephen King, "Running Man"? Essentially, it was a gameshow where 1 guy was on the run from this large group of people who were out to kill him. The guy had to videotape himself everyday for 2 minutes and send in the tapes to the gameshow. The whole country would watch and try and guess where he was so that he could be found. How many seasons/years/advertising dollars will it take to get to a Running Man gameshow. People love seeing violence; it appeals to the general public. Do you ever notice how many WWF type wrestling shows are on TV these days? I think we will see some sort of combination of the WWF and Survivor pretty soon. Or maybe I should take this idea and run with it myself.....

btw, I haven't been posting a lot lately, but there is good reason. I'm really lazy. Also, I have had some technical difficulties. My roommate's computer has been down and I can't seem to post from work.

So I'm in Boston.
I'm doing a little sight-seeing and hanging out with friends. So far my impression is that there are a lot of cool restaurants and clubs/bars--places to eat and drink. This seems to be all I do when I go places. Not that there is anything wrong with that; the sight-seeing just seems to be what I do when I walk between my next eating/drinking place.
Anyway, I reccomend doing it in Boston; it seems like a cool town. And the T, their subway system, is a great way to get around....
to the next eating/drinking place.

My big sister Sandee had a baby last Friday! I'm really excited to be an uncle once again and really happy for Sandee and Greg, her husband.
Check out the little girl on the hospital's web site; Claire Michelle Conway is on the last photo of page.
