The Delta Factor.
Here are my random thoughts at the moment... The image gallery to the left extends all the way to the right, in front of the blue text area, in Internet Explorer 5 for the Mac. And uhh... People should clean up the mess they made. And if something's unsatisfactory, then it should be cleaned or made satisfactory by the person who wants it. If there's a big task at hand, it should be reduced to smaller, easier-to-manage tasks...
Aside from checking out my own site, the previous comments are in reference to resource management and why some things don't get done... Some programs don't let go of the memory they use, or some people litter in the park. So, I was thinking, why not do away with people who have to clean (i.e. janitors) and just attach the cleaning responsibility to the person who committed the act that caused the uncleanliness. In the computer sense, that would mean having programs play nice with the memory they use and giving it back upon termination. The caveat to that is the fact that some people still don't clean up. So, in the absence of janitorial staff or programs, the person requesting the use of a clean area should also be able to clean it up. That may be difficult in some situtations, i.e. a person wants to rent an entire park. If the majority of a large park is dirty, then they obviously can't clean it up by themselves. So, should the first statement about cleaning up afterwards hold true most of the time, worries about the second statement will be negligable.
It feels like I'm pointing out the obvious, but I guess someone had to put it down eventually...
