Random Thingss
I forgive Rollo for not making it to my birthday. The whole 19th century porn thing, plus the fact he seems to have become half-man, half-blog, is enough for me. I don't forgive him for his part in the events of December the 14th 1996, though...
For some reason I've started watching every single stupid fucking science fiction programme that comes on the TV. I am moving from acceptable geek levels to dangerous peaks of nerdhood. One thing I notice about all these shows is the need for a 'captured enemy', one of the bad guys operating on the side of the good guys:Examples 7 of 9 in Voyager, Spike in Buffy, Aeren Sun (or however that is spelt) In Farscape.
Oh fuck it, I've got my own blog. I don't think I'll be entering the mystical kingdom of cool any time soon.
I have become fascinated by Richard Nixon. I'm writing a novel. I've been having dreams featuring the fucking X-Men. I know more about Star Trek than I'll admit to even myself. Help me...

Did a quick web-trawl to see feedback on The Project (The UK release of which is now only 2 months away).
One guy missed his nephew's birthday party just so he could watch it.
Another guy used the character I wrote as a metaphor for his life.
One guy has a webcam picture that shows him watching it with no clothes on.
A social reformist manifesto cites The Project as a good program.
What does this mean? Does it mean something I wrote is having an impact on people's lives?
No, what is actually means is the people on the internet are fucking lunatics...

My competition with Rizla to see who could post the least is going very well.
NEWS SUPPOSITORY
Advance publicity on the Project has appeared in Computer Arts and SFX.
I leave for Spain tomorrow to hothouse a new kids' puppet series.
My girlfriend has left to live in America for a year.
I'm working on another show for the same guys who are doing the Project.
Too much travelling, not enough sleep, too much coffee, not enough perspective.
Have'nt posted on Barbelith, but I'm reading it. Love to everyone...

It's funny. I seem to have totally lost the will to post on barbelith.
Thanks to all the nice people who e-mailed me.On top of the three previous ones I have also got e-mails from the lovely Grant Balfour and Adrian Reynolds.
I'm a little conflicted at the moment because a long time Barbelith poster recently mailed me about his leaving Barbelith. However, he chose not to announce it online, and as such I respect his decision. I have to say though, his reasons really strike a chord with me. Any other disenfranchised barbelites out there?
We could form our own chatboard, with Blackjack, and hookers...

MUSIC-Funny Bones soundtrack.
BOOK- Casino Royale by Ian Fleming
FILM-Shrek
WEBSITE- nope
CLOTHING-Cannes t-shirt.
COMIC- Hectic Planet

Heh. Zenith claims to be writing an article for the Webzine called 'Pop is God', but one has just turned up claiming Pop is Dead. So that would mean that God is Dead. Makes sense.
I'm still not posting on Barbelith, now more because I feel there's better things I should be doing. Thanks for the three e-mails I recieved, and much good vibes to Rizla, Rollo Kim and Moriarty, whose blog I don't have the address to, or in fact don't know if it exists. Some interesting thoughts on Barbelith from those froods, and something it may be interesting to keep an eye on. Everyone else who didn't post, thanks a fucking bunch for reading but not contributing, you may go back to examining your navels now.
READING-
I'm currently reading 'On the Internet' By Hubert L Dreyfus, a deliciously mean spirited little book which basically has it in for the internet, but makes some damn good points about how travelling the internet is more akin to a bad drug trip than an enlightening experience.
More writing coming up, more hassles and annoyance no doubt. That is all.

While working on my article for Barbelith, I have been pondering 'It's a wonderful life'.
To be frank, I'm having one of those days when it seems to me that if Clarence came to me and showed me the world without my presence, it would be almost exactly like the one I live in now, except perhaps the world's supply of tinned pasta would be a little larger.
I have been posting on Barbelith since it was the Nexus, since it was a considerably smaller thing, and have really failed to make an impact. Some posters, like Ganesh or Kooky Mojo, have become real personalities on the board because they were there from the beginning, and are loved and followed by many. Others, like Tannhauser or Kali, made an immediate impact with a gimmick, be it a snotty or sexy persona. Some have been so eccentric as to become immediate cult figures, like Laila or Al Spade. Others have entered the board very recently but have bonded with the other new posters.
I am only known, within a very small capacity, for being known. I am the Zsa Zsa Gabor of Barbelith, no-one can remember what I've done, or if I've ever contributed anything. To be honest, I don't know if I have. All that wasted time, all those wasted opportunities and posts, just to be a nowhere man.
Melodramatic? You bet your fucking billy-goat. But ultimately true. Me and Rizla even swapped names for a while and no-one noticed. (No offence to Rizla, I guess that just means Barbelith only needs one of us.)
I don't enjoy posting on Barbelith as much as I did. I swore to stay away, but crumbled. Possibly because I left for the wrong reasons.
If anyone has any input on any of the above, e-mail me at bizunth@yahoo.co.uk. I am aware how much this looks like a call for attention, and in fact it probably is. But fuck it.
