Well, that's the end now. We don't have a Ziggy anymore - we have a Maggie.

I hope you have enjoyed the journey as much as we have enjoyed sharing it with you.

Ian and Rebecca

And Maggie!

Ooops! The new Daddy fell down on the job - but the pictures are ready now. And you did see the birth anouncement, didn't you?

That's right - Maggie's Here! Pictures should be up sometime Saturday evening.

Well, Ian finally fell asleep around 3:00 or so, right when I woke up. Maybe we're practicing for this tag team parenting thing. Sure wish we had a laptop computer so we could keep this up from the hospital. Especially in the first few hours afterward, I'd love to be able to record my thoughts if I feel up to it. I guess I'll have to rely on pen and paper. How old fashioned! :)

I'm starving and it's taking all the willpower I have not to go in the kitchen and drink a great big glass of milk. But I'm not supposed to have anything after midnight ...

Only a couple of hours to go now ...

TOMORROW, TOMORROW, WE'RE HAVING A BABY TOMORROW ... IT'S ONLY A DAY AWAY!!!

The doctor is inducing at 6:00 am tomorrow, the baby is around 8 pounds, 11 ounces.

HOORAY!!! (about the inducement part, not the fact that we're having a toddler!)

Another sleepless night. So much for my theory that it was the Claritin I was taking. Now I'm awake AND sneezing. Oh well.

Only a few hours until we go to the doctor's. We'll let you know if she sets an inducement date. Cross your fingers and think FRIDAY!! Friday ... Friday ...

Some more false labor this morning, but still no Ziggy...

Sigh.

Tuesday, March 21, 2000

Sorry, we didn't mean to neglect making an entry on Monday. Nothing new to tell about Monday. It's still early on Tuesday, but nothing new to tell here, either. We promise to do better ...

But while you're taking time out to search our site, have you entered your name suggestions, the contest on date and weight, and/or your labor advice yet? This is a two-way street, here!

Another exciting evening at the Murphy Household - We went out and bought 30 cubic feet of mulch.

Does the fun ever stop?

:-)

Doctor's update-- not a great deal of change from last week. 2 cm. dilated, 50% effaced, the doctor doesn't take bribes.

We will go back this Thursday for a sonogram, she will make the decision whether or not to induce on Friday the 24nd or Monday the 27th. I am determined to go into labor before then. If anyone has any suggestions, please pass them along ...

Thursday, March 16, 2000

Well, we had an exciting evening at home - re-organizing our tool shelves.

Don't you wish everybody's life was this thrill-a-minute?

I heard about a co-worker's exciting times waiting for her water break today - now I have lots of new questions to ask the Doctor tomorrow!

Speaking of - don't forget to watch this space for the latest from tomorrow's Doctor's visit! I know the suspense is just killing you, right? :-)

We've driven around on bumpy roads, over speed bumps, and even walked a bit at the mall, but still nothing to tell. Happy Birthday to Laura!

Posted by Rebecca at 3/15/2000 10:16:42 PM

Wednesday morning, same old, same old. I've decided I'm not really pregnant, just fat. This child is never going to come, so I've given up hope.

Rebecca's trying to break her water using the Giggle method - we're watching two straight hours of "Who's Line is it Anyway"

It hasn't put her into labor yet, but it does keep sending her to the bathroom because she's laughing so hard! :-)

Posted by Ian at 3/14/2000 09:14:39 PM

Just for those of you who have not been following progress quite as closely, as of last Friday, March 10th, I was just shy of 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. We return to the doctor's this Friday, March 17th. Unless, of course, Ziggy comes sooner ...

Posted by Rebecca at 3/14/2000 04:39:38 PM

All's quiet as of now. Keep watching this space for updates!
