(New September 3rd) Introducing the 2nd large update for this year. The reviews are not 100% complete (more like 50%), but they each offer a 'first impression capsule' of at least a few words. Final editing will be added as we finish checking out each site. If you have the inside scoop, do your part by correcting any errors and sending reviews of your own firm to our Update email (or tell your Marketing Director or PR head to get on it). And as always, the new additions have blue text descriptions & links. 'Njoy. (Coming, pending completion of more reviews) >>> BEST >>> FLAVOROUS FIRMS >>> FRESH FACES >>> HYBRID FIRMS >>> INDEPENDENT >>> SPECIAL
Firms with a dead site, dead revenue, or those that have gone on the blink for too long time are eventually removed from the 'haus. >>> http://www.atomicvision.com/ --->Cleared from Flavor area. >>> http://www.starwave.com/ --->Became Disney (no comment)
Name changes, category changes, ownership changes... Keep track of the designhaus rollercoaster ride right here: Gummo was an experimental portfolio for a freelance multimedia and graphic designer in San Francisco. New site has a simple twist. A great studio that produces bold interactive design and software. From the web to motion graphics, their work has the quality and flavor of high-end TV productions. Cruising through Vir2l's earlier site was an adventure in slick navigation and blazing backgrounds. Recent changes in the company have caused a downgrade to Flavor. Akqa - a nice looking firm with the potential to move up to Best of Breed. They have a global presence, and in spite of their buy-out of Magnet, shall be featured in the Global area because their strength is in the UK. Showcase site: Run London. Anraek is an endeavour initiated by Andreu Osika to create design products that elevate the quality of experience. Transcending dimension, Anraek delivers high concept and sublime form in web, print and product design. A small firm that is packing quite a punch. The interface structure of this site is unmatched. Clean, stylish, and highly interactive. A nice folio site for Thomas Brodahl, Xtra creates functional art and design. The site includes rotating photographs and a very tight design. Showcase project: Surf Station. |
