My Wish List

My newly 12 year old daughter is such a neat kid. I can tell that she has been processing the past week's events in her own way, and wanted some kind of closure. Last night she lit 11 different hurricane candles. She put a little card with a label in front of each one -- Islam, Christian, Judaism, Hindu and so on. In the middle was a big fat blue candle she made herself with a label that said, "We are all the same flame with different name cards." You can see a photo here. It gave me such a lump in my throat.

And speaking of candles, here is a Danish site where you can light a candle for victims of the terrorist attack last week. As I'm writing this, 758,623 candles have already been lit! Thanks to my friend Irene for the link.

Some of the most intelligent personal commentary I've read recently on terrorism in this country and anti-knee jerk reactions comes from Dana.

My friend Julie has a cool new blog look! :o)

Thank you Bev! A new site look gave me an excuse to get cracking and make some new graphics. And Moni, I love the way you've redecorated.

Yay, Crystal is back to blogging. I hope you feel better soon! :o)

Bren's crocheting too! Just in time for the birth of my husband's newest grandchild, I finally finished the crocheted baby blanket and sent it out Saturday morning. Here's a picture of it.
