in today's news is the latest installment in the "cybersquatting" drama. yahoo! wins rights to domain names.

i cannot believe that we are setting such a precedent for our children. if we follow this logic, then it would be illegal for me to purchase a piece of property in las vegas and wait for it to increase in value, and sell it to the highest bidder.

in the spirit of this law, the property i paid money for in las vegas could be taken away from me by a court action and awarded to ceasar's palace because it is close to their property?

sad...

you know, after the gulf war and viewing how well all those russian scuds performed, i really don't think that the news that the'survivor' spin-off may involve mir is such a good idea.

i mean, would you trust russian rocket technology to get you into space?

i used to think that there was too much crap on television, so i spent more time on the net. now there's this, "stump the duct tape guy!".

i wonder if he can help me with my weight problem, oh wait...never mind.

on this date in 1984, president reagan joked during a voice test for a paid political radio address that he had "signed legislation that will outlaw russia forever. we begin bombing in five minutes."

by all means, lets elect a man who idolizes ronald reagan.

on aug. 11, 1909, the sos distress signal was first used by an american ship, the arapahoe, off cape hatteras, n.c..

it kind of makes you wonder if the ship that received the distress call knew what the hell it was.

"captian, this telegraph thingy is making an odd clicking noise, should i call for repair?"

"no time for that now son, the arapahoe looks like its going down!"

just a thought...

"conceit is god's gift to little men." -bruce barton, american advertising executive (1886-1967).

i am so tired of listening to people moan and complain about how tobacco has ruined their lives. i mean really, did someone from philip morris come to their house for 40 years and make them smoke? no, of course they didn't. this is just another example of americans trying to get something for nothing, something which we are extremely fond of , i'm afraid. i have a great idea. i'm going to start a class action lawsuit against the fast food industry because i'm fat. with the legal precedents being set here, i think i have a great case. beers are on me!

one of my cats does the strangest thing, when she wants me to pay attention to her, she sits with her back to me and meows till i call her name.

do you ever wonder if there are weird things in other languages like 'park on a driveway and drive on a parkway'?

something that has always kind of bothered me about the internet is forms. don't you hate it when you have to fill out a form and they ask you what country you live in? i mean, 1st of all why do they care, and second the united states is always at the bottom of the list next to uraguay. don't be lazy, just re-write the list and put the us at the top with all the other net aware countries so we don't have to scroll through all those others just to tell you where we live. i seriously doubt there are many people in rwanda downloading groovemaster.
