so i'm obviously not on the road anymore. but i don't have my own computer yet and i am not going to take melissa's hostage just to update sp. i might post things here randomly, but i'm really involved in this new project i've started for myself. so who knows. we have visitors. how exciting!

we have a house!! we are now residents of 1714 32nd street san diego, california. god, it's so great to have somewhere to move into. i'm very excited for it. my room is a tad small, but the whole house is a tad small so who cares. i've already got these great plans involving a loft and a desk... oooh yes. i want to take pictures of it, but melissa is visiting long beach and the digital camera is with her. i can't believe things worked out so quickly. we have the keys, we can move in whenever we want. i think we're going to do it tomorrow, not like it matters to me since all i have is a suitcase and a bag. but i CAN get whatever i want and have a place to put it! but all my friends at home, please do not depsair.. it's a month-by-month lease so we could get out of it if things start going wrong... although i think i want to stay here for about a year or so before i head back to the east coast. i am definitely heading back though. little melissa isn't going to be living in our living room anymore, but that's okay because now we have someone to visit and somewhere to crash in la. and she can come visit us and aww won't it be sweet. if anybody wants to send some much appreciated mail to yours truly, the zipcode is 92014. too bad it can't be 90210 huh.

it seems like every time we're here we run into someone frm the mid-atlantic states. okay, we've only been here twice, but it still happened. so we've been hanging out and going shopping and just trying to get some sense of direction around here. yesterday we looked at this lovely little house and we're all hoping that we get it... we should know by monday, so fingers crossed! i can't take a long time though because we are going to pick up the other melissa at the bus station... and i need to shower, because i take forever. hopefully the newness of a house and the business of getting it ready AND the visiting of some loved ones will take away the missing i've been feeling...

we made it to san diego today, around 6 something pacific time. i took some crazy pictures and wrote a bunch of things that i oh so wittily entitled "fragments of silver city" and i will be putting it up here eventually.. i don't know how long it's going to take me to get settled. we stayed in el paso last night at a cheap motel and ate cheap food and watched cheap tv. i don't know what our immediate plans are besides going to taylor's when he's done with work tonight.. and i don't know when i will be settled.. but i will be updating this until i am. because i don't need my own computer with blogger.. anyway. i think we're leaving soon. AND DAMNIT, CALL MY VOICEMAIL. :) bye.

melissa and i pulled a san diego last night while ben was practicing. he let us borrow his car and gave us directions to deep ellum so we could go shopping.. and of course, we stumbled upon a vintage store and both bought shoes and some other goodies. there were some fun looking stores, but we ran out of time. and damn, it is just too hot to walk around in and out of stores. anyway, we went to this place called the sock monkey to see ben's band play. it was really weird. all these rooms connected together and then the bands played outside in this fenced in area. it was weird, but nice. if it had been inside, with all those kids, it would've been just too hot. and in case you can't tell, i do not like texas heat! it drives me crazy. so then after ben played, we headed over to denton to catch the album leaf. i had never heard them before and i was a little too tired to pay attention, but everyone else there seemed to enjoy it. and now i'm sitting on the computer waiting for the other two to wake up. i think we might go to the movies tonight, melissa told me that dallas is famous for it's theaters. i obviously want to go see x-men since i coudn't before i left. i so wish i had gone to see it with paul and garrett.. but we can just all sit around and watch it together once it's out on video. i'm sure we'll all buy it. i'll probably go write some more letters... that's mostly what i've been doing. hey tom if you're reading this... once again, tell your mom BIG THANKS for the cards and stamps!

well we made it to dallas. complete with some funny polaroids and everything. the south looks so completely different from the north, even just the way the trees look. i didn't get to see too much, cause we were hauling ass here and only stopped for gas. it took us about sixteen hours. so now we're hanging out in tayhas for a little while. we leave here on monday morning. more people need to write me email, i'm lonely. i know that a select bunch who WILL be writing me are in cape cod at the moment, so they're forgiven. i'm trying to get melissa to write some stuff on here. ...we will write more as more happens. stay tuned.

we didn't go see calvin johnson, but we had fun at uc anyway. this is our last late night in florida. tomorrow we have a bunch of stuff to do, but that's not half as bad as knowing we have to be ready to take off at 7am on thursday morning. ugh and a half right there for that. i'm sure everyone i know is having a good giggle thinking about me waking up any time before 1pm. i've got to go eat my greasy fries with ranch dressing (jd99rules style)...

today was a packing/selling/trying to shrink all melissa's shit down but she just has so much day. but that's okay cause it's good times. tonight we get to see calvin johnson. and then go somewhere to dance to 80s music. it's getting very close to our departure date! i think we're both pretty excited. i have to get melissa to update this sometimes with me, too. by the way, to any of melissa's friends... while we're on our trip, you can obviously reach her through her email, but if for some reason you feel like leaving her a REAL message, you can call her at my voicemail and, like me, she'll get back when she can. oh yes. voicemail is 877 743 2741. that's about it for now.

well i haven't even left yet. but at least this thing is as set up as i can make it so all the people that i'd like to stay in touch with can reach me. i didn't get to see everyone i wanted before i left... but i guess that's just the way it goes. it wasn't planned. but a few lovely friends did stop over to say their goodbyes, write in the book!, and give me some wonderful unexpected presents.
XTAL! i know you will definitely read this. i just want you to know that you are my little baby donut and no one ever is going to take your place in my heart. you are one of the bestest friends i ever have had the luck to stumble upon and i am NEVER going to let you forget me. so if you think you can get away, think again! i'm not letting you go. i love you so much...

tomorrow afternoon i will be heading out. so the usual spelling problems site, which was never updated that much anyway, will be totally on hold. this baby is here to document the way things go and give everyone a little piece of the action. just for the record, here's the outline of the trip: tomorrow at 12:15pm i leave boston and head to atlanta. after about an hour or so, i head to jacksonville. somehow, i will get from jacksonville to gainesville to stay with the lovely melissa for a few days. then we're heading to dallas, i think. maybe staying for a few days. and then it's off to san diego. i know i won't be settled in san diego for a bit, so don't expect a redesign of this place until i've got myself a lovely new computer and a room to put it in. once that's all taken care of... well, the possibilities are endless. so stay tuned here for what's going on. i'll try to update it as often as possible while we're on the road. kisses!
