I was worried if my wife and her people would get along with my people after finally meeting 1.5 years into our marriage. Now my grandmother calls, they talk and I don't even get a chance to get a hello..after 30 some odd years I have lost my most favored status, just like that...and the wife thinks it quite funny.

Oh Yeah I saw Memento...the opening scene was clever...very different movie with an interesting concept... Not for the linear minded as it unfolded in reverse chronological order, but it stays with you for a while, I am still thinking about it. One minor plot quibble, but it's a cool movie. The website told everything, yet nothing... http://www.otnemem.com

Went to the Greek (as in Greece) Festival in town...give me Baklava over Gyros... I learned 2 things:
Lot of Greeks live in the area. Greek sistas got back, not that I was looking, but who knew?

I was watching bits and pieces of the Superman I DVD and noticed that the one African American charactrer that had a line was a pimp, admiring Superman's "bad outfit".

this middle of the night post brought to you by Mexican food .. I saw the Mummy sequel on Saturday. People with kids don't play .. they come early and I had to hunt for a seat way in the front where I would have an empty one seat boundary on both sides. Loud obese youth nearby squeal with joy, especially at the dismemberment scenes. Maybe because they don't know any better .. or because they do .. I worry .. For the future .. Like a summer storm, the movie was loud, fast and furious and faded from memory in about an hour, save for the less than positive racial stereotype.

The tortoise and the hare 2001 - On Thursday as I was getting up grass clippings I neglected to collect on my previous mowing, I found a baby turtle and returned it to a nearby pond. This morning after mowing I was watering one of the trees and saw a patch of down moving as it became wet. Newborn mammals were nesting in my front yard, rabbits I assume. 2 were alive one was not. I wondered if I stepped on them as I was mowing, or worse. I am not a big PETA-card-carrying animal loving softie like Janeen, but as I look out the window at the present deluge I wonder if they will survive the night.

Thank God for the new Jamaican joint - no not that joint - that opened up in town. I am craving pates on the regular. Saint Thomians call them pates, Jamaicans call them patties, go figure...it's all good.

On my Mother-in-law's birthday I reflect on the week thus far in my homeland. - I've experienced racism by my own fellow Virgin Islanders.
- I am seeing my Godmother for the first time since suffering from Alzhiemers and wish I had an earlier opportunity to talk with her.
- I'm beneficiary to a relative who has gone through great lengths to establish her legacy after death while she neglects to address it during her life.
- I was put in the unique situation where I exchanged introductions between my wife and my first girlfriend.
- I witnessed the convergence of my differing degrees of separation in one exteded family reunion.
- I am being beat down by the sun.
- I haven't had time to do JACK for self - except type this...
- The St. Thomas KMart makes a mean meat pate.
- The roosters owned by the people next door must be on Greenwich Mean Time.
- I often thought my unorthodox family tree as more of a vine, but after seeing my family through my wife's and in-law's eyes, I appreciate my family a whole lot more.
