- Well, it's Thursday and I'm still having a moderately good time. Class this morning @ 8, which sucks, but it's the online class that I won't have to go to in a few weeks. And, in theatre, despite having missed class on Tuesday, I was neither ridiculed or rebuffed. In fact, two other people had done the same thing. For fuck's sake, why have a class before 11?
So here I sit, in Randall library, pecking away at a wireless laptop in the room with the most beautiful view of the Campus Commons. Forty foot wide floor to ceiling window looking out onto the lake and the bell tower. God I love this campus.
Still listening to my good old Figure 8. I was actually going to swap it out with some Belle & Sebastian, but I was late for English, and what's a brother to do? I hope my CD is done when I get back to Kenneth's this evening, I need some new music I think. Perhaps I should spend some time at Schoolkids this weekend. Actually, I have a few things to do this weekend. For your edification:
-Buy Ruler for Design    -Buy Graph Paper Tablet for Design    -Buy Exacto Knife for Design    -Buy File Cabinet    -Look @ bar stools in WalMart
And, if there's time, drive to Raleigh and
-Get Sketchbook    -Get Calculator off desk in old room
Last night at Barnes & Noble I picked up a copy of Jerzy Kosinski's Being There. I had written a note to myself a year or so ago to read it, but I'm not sure why or even if it is the same book but with a different author. Regardless, I saw the book, remembered the note from when I copied everything to the new harddrive, and picked it up. It's been a long time since I absolutely devoured a book, but this one really did it for me. The language is just so perfectly timed and implemented in tune with the plot that I could not put it down for a solid hour and a half, when Nick came to pick me up. I finished it this morning outside Kenan Hall, and am a better person for it. It's just...good. There's also a movie version, and although it couldn't come close to the book, I'm going to check it out as soon as the Library gets it back on the shelf.
By the way, I think that I'm going to use the Library's free video checkout a lot in the next year or so. And except for the occasional anomaly (Caddyshack? In the UNCW library?), they only stock good movies. And good movies are the kind of movies that I like.
I never really had a problem, because of leaving, but everything reminds me of her, this evening. 2:03 PM |
