I've been listening to lots of Bill Hicks again. Here's his take on conservative right lunatics, originally about Jesse Helms, but Jerry Falwell fits nicely as well:

I'm an armchair pyschologist, but you know when Jerry Falwell finally dies, he's gonna commit suicide first of all in a washtub out back underneath a pecan tree. He's gonna slash his wrists and write in blood "I've been a bad boy". But you know they're gonna find the skins of young children drying in his attic. i've been experiencing the same range of emotions i'm sure all of you have. horror, dismay, dread, anger, guilt, numbness, pride. but for some reason, i have not experienced fear, yet. i have not been afraid. i don't know what that means.

I had a dream last night. I dreamt I was an author. I had a wife and 2 kids. I would sleep for 3 hours a day, and write for the rest. Each day I would finish 13 pages for my book, of which 5, I'd throw away.
That's all I remember, sounds pretty simple, but let's analyze, shall we?

Notice the pattern? It's the Fibonacci sequence in my dream! The Fibonacci sequence is a recursive sequence where if you start with 1 and 1, to calculate the next term, simply sum the previous two terms. Thus 1 and 1 is 2, 1 and 2 is 3, 2 and 3 is 5, etc... For you math nerds, here's the formula:
F(1) = 1
F(2) = 1
F(n) = F(n – 1) + F(n – 2)
So the actual sequence is 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, ...
And here's a diagram of it if each square's length corresponds to a number in the sequence.
Notice the spiral? I could go on and on because I liked university calculus.
But how does this relate to the movie Pi? Well the Fibonacci sequence is mentioned in the movie. The above diagram was in it too. In my dream I was living the pattern. There are patterns everywhere in nature. I'm sure if there was more to the dream, it would somehow involve the numbers 34 and 55 and so on.
You may think I'm a math dork, but I think this is pretty damn cool.
