My Saturday Night pt. 1
Andy and Michelle decided to drag me along to a wedding yesterday. Andy was one of the groomsmen, so Michelle needed someone to talk to while he fulfilled all his responsibilities. I had met the bride and groom a while back, January I believe, so I wasn't a complete stranger. I did spend a lot of time introducing myself though. It was a nice ceremony, but for the most part, I was extremely distracted. One of the parents looked exactly like Lando Calrissian!! I swear it...this guy could've won a contest or something. The distraction lied in the fact that I couldn't think of the name of the actor who played Lando. The only name I could come up with was Lionel Ritchie - don't ask me why.
Then I started to think, "No, Lionel Ritchie is the guy who sang Tutti Frutti." For a short while I thought I was right, but I soon doubted my judgment. It wasn't until the end of the wedding that I asked Andy who really played that song. Little Richard, curious. Then I asked Andy who played Lando Calrissian...
...Billy Dee Williams - he's so damn smooth.
My Saturday Night pt. 2
I was asked by one of the groomsmen to drive his truck to the reception after the wedding. He was unaware that he had to ride in the limousine with the rest of the wedding party. I agreed to assist the guy, seeing as how I was the only one who could drive a stick-shift automobile.
After the wedding, I started to get a bit nervous cuz I hadn't driven stick in about two years - I was afraid of stalling, blowing up the truck or something equally as scary. I walk up to the truck, and it stood about a foot taller than me!! There's nothing like being afraid of a machine, but I agreed to help out, so I hopped in - err, climbed in. The first thing I notice - the very first thing - there were four damn pedals. FOUR!! I panicked, got the heck out of there and ran over to Michelle's car (leave it to me to ask a girl how to drive a monster truck). She told me that the one on the far left was the brake.
The brake!! I thought that was the second from the left - where the hell is this truck from?? She just shook her head at me and stated it was the parking brake. *phew* I drove the truck to the reception without a hitch. Granted, I squeeled the tires a few times, but that was the most I had to worry about.
