The American Red Cross will need blood and platelet donors to come in over the next several days to help replenish the nation’s blood supply. Call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE to schedule an appointment.

Don't forget to donate to Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Amazon is waiving all fees for this fund. Update, 2001-09-12, 7:25 PM EST: $1,339,710.99 collected.

(World New York and Wrongwaygoback do a far, far better job of description than I ever could.)
