Just saw "Escape From L.A." with Kurt Russell. All I can say is "Wow!" This movie's got some moments!

Kurt Russell saying "Call me Snake" in his traditional growl. Kurt Russell wearing an eye patch a la Captain Ron. Kurt Russell surfing alongside Steve Buscemi's convertible, keeping perfect pace with it, and then jumping from the wave onto the trunk. Kurt Russell hangliding over L.A., spraying bullets into a crowd.

The cover says it all....

Classic. We also saw "Shadow of the Vampire", which was okay, but not nearly as good as I thought it would be. Wait for it to come out on video, it's definitely a renter.

Apologies to Richard Cobbett, whose name I misspelled. I also said that he is a writer for "Total Film" magazine, which is incorrect. I tried to edit my post, but Blogger was slow as all hell and it wouldn't let me edit. Sorry!

Saw "O Brother Where Art Thou?" last night. Don't listen to the critics! I really enjoyed this movie! The music was awesome. In a way it was like a musical for the screen. It may have been silly and unrealistic but it made me feel, and that's all that stage musicals do, only in a different way. Go to it, sit back and enjoy the beautiful music and beautiful scenery. I'm downloading the soundtrack as I write this.

Also "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" was AWESOME. It has everything I stand for: awesome physical combat, romance, and chicks beatin' ass.

Honestly haven't seen any ass lately, which is surprising.
