currently spinning...a homegrown cd
after a year and a half of having a cd burner, i finally learned how to burn a cd. quick of me huh? anyway, the purpose for the cd is to motivate energy (excercise)... i took it with me running this afternoon. it works. i encourage everyone to build such a mix of their own!
this week's wallpaper...

There are lots of other really cool impressionism pictures up if you're into that kind of art. This one is "the reader" by monet...
recently i am feeling... professional
there is just something about wearing a white coat to class everyday that makes you feel happy :) maybe it's because i've waited forever almost to own one and be able to wear it for something other than lab... :)
something to ponder
"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
—Ralph Waldo Emerson

8:24 AM-- well, my alma mater made the local news... i guess some people have issues with the new chancellor that has been selected. my whole thing is that we've known who the new chancellor would be for over a year- why do they pick now to try and protest it?

5:20 PM-- i really only have one thing to say today. science and it's endless realms of possibility just continue to amaze me. please read this story. it's too crazy to be true.

12:10 AM-- i really and truly love the DMB for their musical stylings and wonderful concerts, but after bearing witness to their decision to bring napster into their promotions i am even more convinced of how much i respect them. thank goodness there is at least one artist out there that is able to see that something like napster could be a GOOD thing... and that it's not just for STEALING MUSIC... thanks dave.

9:54 AM-- i guess to the website observer, it would seem that i haven't had much to say recently. in actuality, i have had so much to say and no time to write about it. i started my master's program last week and today will mark my completion of a full week of classes. so much information, so little time. things are going well so far, but if my posts are a little sporatic, it's probably because i'm not ever around my computer enough to learn about anything interesting to post! today, i have a few things.

1. yesterday the two new pandas @ the national zoo in washington dc were available to viewing by the public. i must have seen at least 5 news stories about them and thousands of people stood in line for hours to catch them on their *panda premier day*. i wish i could have been there, but alas, i got to see them on their webcams!

2. i think that this little endeavor could actually be worth something. i have seen online grocery shopping in the past, but never anything like this. unfortunately it's not being tested at a store near me, but the second it is, i will definately try it out. my major issue with grocery shopping is running around the store and looking for things you need... then buying things you don't need because you see them... or forgetting things you needed... this way you could just make your shopping list- transfer it to their order form, and go pick everything up and pay for it. good job farm fresh. i hope all the kinks are worked out and this one is a success!

11:40 AM-- in searching for more info on the suspected shooter from the shooting in Massachusetts, i came across this story. just think about what could happen to the hits on your webpage if your name was the same as someone accused of something terrible...

11:25 AM-- who on earth would do such a thing? i just don't get what this world is coming to. who wakes up and thinks to themselves, "i think i'll go to the zoo and steal some animals today?"...
