saw David Byrne at the Warfield last night. he was completely mindblowing. his voice is incredible, and he was just so happy. every one of his songs has this intangible Great American Novel quality to it. probably one of the best concerts I've ever seen.  :: 7/31/2001 04:19:29 PM

Yesterday I was in a meeting. Here's what I learned:

1. Use Cases have Actors.
2. The Actor can be anybody. Say, for example, Alan Thicke.
3. Engineers speak the language of Use Cases. We must present them with Use Case lists, and pictures with circles, arrows, and lines corresponding to these lists. They will not understand any other method of communication nearly as well, even if you speak loudly and wave your hands a lot.
4. It is desireable to make Use Case lists for everything on a site.
5. Even if that thing is a concept which cannot be "used" in any physical sense.

Now I'm attempting to write a Use Case list for an abstract concept which describes design and not reality. Good thing I majored in stuff like this.   :: 7/25/2001 01:19:01 PM

Okay, been spacing on the blog front. Today I'm loving x-entertainment, which has commentary on the Top 10 My Little Ponies of All Time, and the Star Wars Holiday Special.  :: 8/31/2000 12:45:00 PM

Victory of the day: cascading style sheets. To make a long story short, I figured out how to have two different link colors on the same page -- this very page, in fact. I got no help from the official W3C documentation, but the built-in help in Homesite saved me in the end.  :: 7/27/2000 03:11:08 PM
