yes, I haven't updated in a very loooong time;
I've been in a pretty deep funk for the last bit, but I'm finally starting to come out of it...
though I've just been laid off as well...anyway,
today I opened a collaborative weblog amongst some friends that I hope will be kinda cool as time builds...

sponge.nu

...also nyetwerk will be getting an imminent (check my spelling on that one) face-lift as well, sooner than later... in the meantime, if you can't find me here, you can find me there.

I dreamed that I was at the airport waiting for a flight to Singapore. Whilst waiting to get on the plane, I was staring out the window at the planes taking off. I watched one plane get up to about 1000ft. and then roll over and come crashing down on it's back - there was a huge explosion; blew out all of the windows around the airport. I rushed out to help; all of the people lying on the ground had clown faces - a Russian circus group I think. Anyway, next thing I know, I'm on a plane to Singapore and realize that I forgot my passport - this is starting to bother me a bit. There are two lady pilots flying the aircraft, and somehow, I can remotely see into the cockpit. The two pilots are chatting on the radio like they are taking covert orders or something. We land in what must be Antarctica or something - all that you can see around are snow drifts... I get out of the plane and move some snow away with my shoe and below me I just see a big block of ice with people suspending inside (like Iceman or Neaderthals trapped in ice) - bizarre thing is, it's the same clowns from the crash earlier.

hey,
I'm still in California, soon I'll start updating again... when I get back to an even keel. Internet access and time constraints have been a real drag on this website. I'll be home for good on Friday of this week; new job! - updates will be much more frequent.
later, john.

I'm going on with lack of sleep 48 hours... so if I sound freaky that's what it's about...

hmmm... I was so excited to see Milky this morning...and likewise; my feline friend... is sleeping on my lap...

a really good guy that I work with and consider a good friend, told me today that he is going to be a father... he will be a good one.... and I am very happy for he and his wife...

Mike, I miss you - I hope that your sternum is healing properly - Katherine needs to move herself over to America from Germany - and become a part of this group... John and I need you around... please email me soon and let me know how you are doing?...

I've another friend who I miss dearly and I don't exactly know why a communication breakdown has occurred between us... I miss you...and you know that I love you...no matter what...

I've got the coolest mom in the world...

sponge.nu is working it's way round and soon I'll link it here...

Sarah, I hope that you are well...

must sleep, before I fall into it...

a few moments ago,
I looked in the mirror and saw grey hairs that weren't there.

so - "John, where have you been?"
that's the crux of what's in my inbox - so, let me explain:

pusskat pusskat; where have you been?
i've been to London
and now I'm queen;
sitting pretty, I don't wear the suits,
and the mice all call me
puss n' boots

-that Adam Ant song Puss 'N Boots song (from the Strip album) was stuck in me head; please forgive me... so honestly:

I've been to So. California on business tripanease doing consultant work for one of the more successful .com's (who will remain anonymous) - this fiasco will last til early/mid march. Hopefully next week I'll be able to update from So. Cal. - so there won't be much of a delay betwixt posticles.

side note: Who is this "Verbow" band that I'm listening to on Shoutcast at the moment? They sound vaguely good.

not much to say about the client other than - I've been working very long days - ...and their employees are spoiled rotten - but I'm jealous... not that they don't deserve it, there is alot of brain technical brain flower floating through that place... and I suppose they've earned it... maybe I'll get into the employee perks later; that'd explain the spoiled part - but I'm off work for the next 3 days, so I'm going to avoid talking about it.

an situational circumstance experienced in Las Vegas, NV during a stop over for the redeye flight back to Atlanta last night -
"So, do you have anyone waiting for you at home?"
"My cat Milky."
"Oh, I see."

I lost 3 dollars gambling in Las Vegas at the airport betwixt flights - damn. High roller that I am.

experience on the redeye flight from Las Vegas to Atlanta this morning that I don't want to forget -
I'm going to try to relate this story in words, but I don't know if I'll be able to properly convey the experience.

so, I was sitting in the back of the plane before take off and one of the stewardess(es) asked me the following:
"Sir, do you have any baggage in the top racks?"
"No, I just brought on the laptop underneath the seat in front of me... I checked the rest."
"There is a seat up front that I'd be more than happy to put you in; if you are interested?"

...as I was seated in the window portion of a 3- across with a lovey couple, I agreed.

I made my way to the front of the plane - there was a person in the aisle seat - she moved to the window seat to make room for me in the ailse seat and there was a seat inbetwixst us.

It took her a moment to move all of her stuff to the window seat - a bag of canned food and a large white container of some sort of liquid...I did not know what the liquid was at that point... she smiled shyly and said something like, "...this is good, we'll have lots of room then..."
I detected her accent - definitely not born in the States... I thought English and then Russian - it's all irrelevant, but I made the observation.... she was attractive, I must say -but not in a knock-dead sort of way; ...i've deleted several descriptions here...the reason for the deletions is that I can't describe it in words - I'll say good soul, who doesn't know it and probably doesn't see it through her shyness...(Cheese I know, but whatever - that's irrelevant as well...) When I say attractive in this context, I'm describing light, bright white light, not a sexual thing but a warm feeling... sort of hug... a bizarre familiarity between two complete strangers who eminate the same light and feel immediately comfortable with one another as though they've known each other forever...

damn, it's not what you think, but anyways... in her seat, once situated with her blanket over her knees I saw her clutch a picture in her hands and look really sad... I glanced over; I could make out her in the picture, but not the other person (the other was obscured by her hands)... she looked so sad...

...so, away goes the picture and then she opened a jar of baby food; I couldn't make out what flavor, but it looked like mashed carrots or something...that's bizarre, I thought... there were 3 jars of baby food that she consumed throughout the flight and a jug of formulated milk for children... I was concerned to say the least... and intrigued at the same time...

very little time passed - we were in the air now - she said to me,
"Do you mind if I lay across the seats," meaning her seat and the seat between us. "Sometimes being a small person has it's advantages...," she said.
"Sure, no problem," I replied. I wanted to call her Chloe. (...I've no idea about this one, but that's what I wanted to call her...)

She lay down...the very top of her head rested snugly against my thigh...she fell asleep...

I clasped my hands in my lap and felt as though I could not stretch out much ...tried not to crowd the situation or touch more than what was already on my leg...

So bizarre feeling...

anyways, I left Las Vegas at midnight and arrived Atlanta sometime around 6-6:30am - don't forget the 3 hour time difference... I started to get really sleepy and began to doze off...

I evidentally twitch when sleeping sometimes - I'd nod off and then wake up with my hands stretched before my face in a sort of where am i sort of pose, confused before regaining my faculties - miliseconds, but still unsettling... Anyway, this bit kept happening... and at some point my hands became unclasped and fell from my leg and directly into her face with a sharp twitch; I realized immediately upon impact and woke up.

..."I'm so sorry, are you OK? ...I feel off to sleep...and I didn't mean to hit you..."
"I'm fine, I was awake - I know that you didn't mean it - I woke up awhile ago and have been lying here thinking..."

she smiled and re-snuggled herself and fell back to sleep - I was fully awake at this point...

awhile longer passed and I was trying to figure out what it was about this person - I didn't know what the bottle with the Milk in it was - the thought passed through my head that perhaps it was some sort of drain cleaner and she was slowly dying... I was worried... (I was sleepy, deal with it, OK?)...

...anyway, she's still asleep, and we are approximately 15 min. from landing... the stewardess says to me,
"Sir, will you wake your friend up - we are about to land."

I shake her shoulder and say, "Miss, we are about to land - you must wake up and assume the position with the seat belt, tray table bit."

She awakens and says,
" Did you get a good rest?"

"Actually, I didn't - I kept nodding off, but immediately would wake up with two confused arm flailing in front of my body in a sort of where am I pose; Did you?"

We started to talk during the landing process - 15 min. maybe...

I learned the following:
She is living in San Francisco - working for a company that makes fountain scultures - she's come to Atlanta for a trade show, because her workmates thought that it'd be a good idea for her to get out and go on this trip. She admitted to being a bit nervous about the whole thing. She grabbed the milk and took a drink... I asked her, "What is that?"
She told me and began to explain the baby food. She commented that it all must look a bit bizarre...

"I've just got over a fasting bit, and my stomach has shrunk, so I've got to work my way back up to solid foods..."
"You were fasting, why?"
"Religious reasons; a cleansing of the soul and body."
"What religion?"
"Well, I'm a Christian...it's not really a religious sort of thing actually..," she looked really sheepish, "...I've..., " she struggled with the words, and looked sad, "...I've got sort of a heartache, broken heart...," she touched her hand to her chest.
She said, "I've actually only done this fasting thing 3 times in my life." She looked at me as though she was feeling that perhaps I would think that she was insane or something and felt self conscious about it.
"Did it work then?"
"Yes, I think that maybe it has...," her smile was heavenly and sincere. I think that she could see that I understood her - I smiled.
We were on the ground at this point, at the gate, I got up to leave the plane and waited in the lobby for my workmate Chris to come out... Whilst waiting for Chris to exit the plane, she came out with one of her workmates and walked up to me. You could see a definite difference between the two of them, the light was different.
"It was a pleasure to see you, " she said.
"Yes. Good luck on your trip," I replied.
She smiled, looked down and then up at my eyes as if she'd known me for eons - It was my sister. - she was one of me. -and then understandably gone.

...I don't know why I've attempted to relate this story ... It makes me sound evenmore bizarre huh?... I can't explain it in such a way that makes real sense, as a opposed to sense that you the reader may get from it, if you are thinking anything other than a pure bright light, you've not got it...

ok so now on Shoutcast - I've just gone from Tori Amos singing over and over that, "she's addicted to nicotine..." monotonously over and over to the Love Spit Love version of the Smith's How Soon Is Now? Cover

you shut your mouth;
how can you say
I go about things the wrong way;
So you go and stand on your own,
and you leave on your own;
and you go home and you cry and you want to die.

When you say it's going to happen now;
well, what exactly do you mean?
See, I've already waited too long,
and all my hope is gone.

one word - "slippery".

4:41:19 PM| link to this

Kimble left the salad head - tied to a loose elastic chain -
he thought about what it meant to be away from the greenery and it bothered him immensely;
what to do he wondered?

"...perhaps I should traverse to the Annoracks and steal the kiss from a stringless wind...," his brain was working, "...of course tis a dangerous situation to have a bell tied round one's naked neck...annoying too..." - perplexed, his thought process moved forward -

"...perhaps I should join the shoulders of the mountain and form a large plexiglass tent in the rocks below...," he slept on that one and later the next day realized that something of that nature would just tempt him to jump below the waistline of the trees.

The pollen would leave him a small sneeze to contend with, "...ummm, no nevermind."

editor's note: this story has nothing to do with anything - it is not subliminal or subversive and contains no hidden meanings at all whatsoever - having made a point of saying that, you will surely disregard this note and try to make sense of it regardless - that's human nature; I understand -

i'm back - i didn't know honestly if I would be "back", but I think that now I probably am back from whence I was, which we will most likely get into later.

anyways, look for a proper update soon.

...and Dori, thank you so much for your brief spiel about me being "adorable as fuck" - I do appreciate it - ...and you rock and you know it. **clap my hands**

what a surprise?! this morning, I woke up to this:

snow is dispicable.

and this:

dammit, where am i supposed to play today?.

nifty. I literally had no idea that this was even a possiblility today; the snow I mean. I know that this is not much of a "snow", but then again this is Atlanta. I didn't just write the word nifty did I ...yuck! Once again, I have nothing more to say than that.

the election is finally over then -
I thought that Algore's concession speech was nicely delivered; he handled himself with dignity, and I can respect that.

I've got nothing else to say right now, as I'm so busy with work, but go and read the new dream snippets and send me some feedback. I must be losing my mind, ya see ;).

today is Nine's 23rd birthday!

Happy Birthday Nine!

In honor of Nine's birthday today, I've composed two poems for
her; neither of which are any good, but they are damn clever. Being the
clever person that she is, it seems fitting.

Poem #1 -

dearest nine,
drinking wine
on her birthday
twine thrice

9 different birthday wishes for you beginning with this one; I guess that
makes it
8 actually, but couldn't eat another bite of the
7 layered chocolate cake; it made me
6 once.
5 = (4.25 * 4.71) divided by
4 more things to say; well
3 actually. no, I guess that makes it
2 - oh nevermind. this is just
1 more Birthday wish for you!

Happy Birthday Nine!

Poem #2 -

here's a happy birthday wish for you
I hope your day is bright and blue
and no gum gets stuck to your shoe.

...cause that can be a pain,
unless you're in the rain
running along side a train.

(in which case it would surely come off)

in the year of 23, my hope is the world for ye.

we look to the future with bright stary eyes;
and behold the earth's greatest surprise -
YOU!

new dream in the dreams section - documented barely indecipherable.

Atomsplit plays TastyWorld tonight in Athens around 10-ish. Those of you in the Athens/Atlanta area - come to the show! You certainly won't be disappointed. Atomsplit is the best unsigned band in the nation...

since I seem to have confused so many with the last post;
I've decided to clarify... about Dirk's socks at least - it's a song you see.

right after Crowded House left my crowded head yesterday, Adam and the Ants moved in for a moment.

when I was 11 (sixteen years ago), I thought that Adam and the Ants were the sh*t! ...and after going back and listening to a couple of very old albums last night, I think that I was quite right slightly.

click here for realaudio and join the ant-nation.
(I'll only leave it up for a few days, so if you click this a week from now, it's probably not there anymore; I'll have become annoyed with the Ants by then, but for now...)

if you can comprehend the following,
then maybe, just perhaps, you can comprehend my ears:

ant music for sex people,
sex music for ant people;
get off your knees and hear the insect prayer:
Dirk wears white socks!
Dirk wears white socks!

you may not like it now, but you will - don't be square, be there!

ok, I have a candy problem.

you see, here at work by the front desk, there's a candy jar - I walk by it very often throughout the day on the way back and forth to the places that I go.

there's a never ending supply of life savers, butterscotch, tootsie rolls, caramel things - and invariably my fingers slip in as I'm walking by - I've got it down to a science you see - I never even break my stride.

that's just wrong.

I've never been a huge big fan of the group Crowded House, but I did own Woodface in like 1990 or something and that song, "Four Seasons in One Day," has been stuck in my head all morning long - how bizarre.

evidentally my website has been on again off again for the last day or so - a southwestern bell hiccuping bandwidth problem? according my my provider...

i've been un-busy with work for the last hour, so I'm ecstatic about that bit.
working so hard lately, I have been.

somebody tell me what is going on in the outside world - i'm mostly oblivious...

CNN says that, "Al Gore scores a moral victory with appeals court decision today". What an interesting way to describe it; moral... really did I miss something? Al Gore and moral in the same sentence?
MSNBC says that, "Bush warns terrorists to back off" as one of it's headlines. Damn his trigger finger is awfully itchy already. Scary -

...shouldn't have bothered really...

did I mention that I'm fed up with this whole election thing - Bush won; Gore lost. It's really simple - ...and I really don't want to hear about the popular vote; the electoral college is there for a reason - it's called tyranny of the majority and state representation. Likewise, I don't want to hear about all of the morons in Florida that cannot fill out a damn ballot - too bad; too sad. Did you know that throughout this country more than 2 million votes were not counted? Kind of wipes out the 500 or so vote difference doesn't it, particularly if you are a champion of the popular vote; no one can truthfully say who won the popular vote, no more than they can say who actually won Florida. ohhh... I better stop there. America wake up, "...freedom is just another word for nothing left to sell." (BillyBragg) -

...of course what right do have to say anything, you may argue, because I didn't vote...
...you cannot change the system by working within it; you merely perpetuate it...

...i mean, don't get me wrong, I think that the U.S. works just fine the way that it is; just trying to get someone's ire up...; but, it sure can be annoying sometimes ;)
