basically what this is my little place on the web to rant and rave about stuff. my brain toilet for my brain crap if you will... i won't call this a journal because i'm not going to really use this for recalling daily events. rather, i'll use this space to express my opinions, vent my frustrations, recall memorable moments, display "photo essays", etc.

THE ARCHIVE
i dunno why, but i'm gonna archive these things.. click the link above to take a look at the archive... obviously there won't be very much there at the moment, but hopefully i'll be adding to this thing on a somewhat frequent basis...

i'm going insane...

my father's birthday has passed recently.. i made a point to myself that i would call him and wish him a happy birthday... but yeah you guessed it, i forgot.. so my mom calls and says that he's pretty upset about that... and i feel like a shit...

lately, my father has been wanting to catch up on all the time we missed together when i was growing up, but it's fucked.. he lives far away and i can't really have phone conversations with him because i honestly have nothing to say to him... we never did have an open line of communication, and one can't be opened with the snap of the fingers (like he seems to expect)... the whole situation just gives me a headache... i enjoy the freedom of living parent-free, but i wish they would come back.. i feel the fabric of our family tearing (cheesy i know) and i don't believe occassional phone calls will fix everything... agh.. i dunno.. this shit is fucked...

so i haven't written in awhile, what a surprise! school is hectic... to the average joe it's probably no big deal, but keep in mind i've been a useless fattening blob of flesh for more than a year -- so even the most simple assignment sorta seems like a 10 page essay... but i think i'm adjusting... i hope i'm adjusting.

not much to write about otherwise... i guess i could write about some school stuff, but i'm paranoid some classmates will somehow find this page and read all this shit... oh i know, i'll write about wendy.. this might be a bit mean, but uhmmm.. i can't figure out how she got in the class at all... she doesn't seem to know what the hell is going on in the class.. she takes an extra 10-20 minutes during breaks... she clearly does not bathe often (i got a good whiff of her horrible BO today actually, smelled REALLY sour and i swear tears started welling up in my eyes)... i could go on and on, but i'm sure you get the idea... anyway, this all kind of ticks me off... i got rejected the first time i applied for this course... so how in the HELL did she get in? i don't get it... i would like to see the portfolio she submitted.. but i guess it doesn't really matter.. seeing as how i'm in the course now...

i'm going to bitch a little bit about english class too.. the teacher is like real nice and everything, but i'm not sure i like her teaching style... she's the kind of teacher that REALLY likes to involve the class in lessons.. like she'll stop in the middle of a point to try and see if anyone in the class knows what she's talking about... this whole process slows everything down ... i bet if she just did her lesson, and wrote some notes on the board straight up, no bumbling around asking everyone what a compound sentence is and waiting 5 minutes for a response and picking people who obviously don't know or else they would have put up their hand and then going onto another person who doesn't know, etc etc, we'd finish the lesson twice as fast and be able to nap for the last half of the class...

i used to think i was pretty good at english.. that i had a pretty firm grasp on the language... boy was my head way up my own ass... as mentioned previously, as part of this course i'm taking, there is a required english class.. no big deal i thought.. it's been somewhere around 4 years since my last english class, but i didn't think i was too far removed from my classmates. ha ha... this morning, as i sat in english class listening to the teacher and students gleefully yak about conjunctions and compound sentences and dependents and all this CRAP, i thought to myself -- shit son, this class isn't going to be as easy as you thought -- to further boost my self esteem, this guy who has an accent (which leads me to believe english is his 2nd language) knew a lot of this stuff... agh.. funny thing is i DON'T REMEMBER EVER learning any of that stuff... nouns, verbs, etc sure, but most of the shit they were talking about in class today was like.. new to me.. so i'm feeling like a total FOB in a way... "i no engrish!!"

i'm having trouble adjusting to being awake and functioning in the daylight hours... 2nd week is almost over and i still feel like staying up until 5 or 6am to just mess/bum around like i used to... i miss having all that free time on my hands, watching porn, playing vid games, picking my nose, fucking around on the net, being a recluse...

i'm going to have to try and get to work on shryke.. i have dreams of making it my own personal pretentious art site... you know the type.. sites with webart that you don't understand cuz it really doesn't have a meaning but it looks cool so you appreciate it and you bookmark the site and tell all your friends how cool you are for knowing the site exists and you proceed to copy the style of the site and you register a domain name so that you may put up your own pretentious art site so you can be as cool as the guys/gals that you so admired and then you can become a weballstar and adapt this totally higher than thou attitude and do versus projects against other well established weballstars in a battle of gigantic egos even though no winner is ever selected cuz it's actually a collaboration rather than a versus thing and well you get the idea... oh btw, that was a huge run-on sentence!! notice the lack of any punctuation!! i'm cool!!

so today was my first day back at school (i mean real full-time get up in the morning school) in ohh.. what.. 3 years? it felt kind of strange but a little too familiar.. ie: me trying to keep from dozing off during a slide presentation, the feeling of having responsibilities again, etc etc... overall not a bad first day, if a little uneventful... english in the morning.. huge lunch break.. somewhere like 3 hours long.. then design class in the afternoon.. quite a long class it was.. started at 1pm ended at 5pm.. youch... anyhoo, i'm about to pass out... goodnight.. and my back has moved back in, thanks for asking.

... and now for something completely different. as you may or may not know, summersault (a cross canada tour involving some big name bands, and some not so big name bands) came rolling into town on august 6th/2000... i thought the day to be pretty much uneventful and decided not to write about it, but mah bald headed crackah jack, dwayne decided he would lend a helping hand and write about the day. so what you are about to read is august 6th, summersault, through the eyes of the weirdo named d-way.

Ok bitches, Demonic D-Way here, this is the poop-shit that went down at summersault 2000. To start off I woke up on a shiny Sunday morning at 10:00 am, my head being a little on the rough side I decided I had to shave it down again. How else am I to pay tribute to Billy Corgan. The best razor I found for a good head shaving was a Mach 3 razor. After doing all the regular morning things like shaving, showering and dumping, I head off to pick up Ninja Bob a.k.a. Jerry "the CrackMastah" Chan. Luckily for Jerry, he didn't have any nose bleeds that day, so his blood levels were back to normal. And if he did have a nose bleed, I would probably take a couple of hot wires and cauterize his injury. I asked him why he didn't shave his head as well, his reply was there was can only be one person in our group who should do that, so he went with the James Iha look, not like anyone would notice.

The next homey on the list was Sonic Shane. He lived way out in Callingwood which isn't too terribly far to drive out but I still think he could live a lot closer. When we got to his place, he wasn’t home. I don't care if he was only around the corner talking to his fellow homey in the hood, don't go off anywhere while waiting for a lift. We found him and then took off for Dave's place. I don't know about anyone else but if you ask me, any person who lives that fucking far out in the boonies should have their brain examined.

Before we headed off to the stadium, Dave recommended that we go to eat somewhere first before in case food at the stadium was too expensive. For the first time I think I would have to agree with him. There's no way I was gonna pay 12 bux for a slice of pizza. We went to the Arches down the street, I had crispy chicken and everyone else had Royale and Double Royal with cheese. Dave opened his up first and it must have been dripping with grease. Jerry's wasn't as bad but his was sloppily made. I guess that's all you can expect from people working on next to welfare wages.

We decided to drive over to the LRT and take the train to the stadium, after what Shane had explained what happened to him when he parked around there. After reaching the stadium, we noticed a line-up that seemed to go on forever. After sitting around on the steps for awhile we decided to walk along next to the line then gradually merge in. The plan worked and we were in in no time. We went down into the floor area and walked around for a bit. Looked at some stuff (hash pipes, hemp clothing, other type of clothing, etc.), until Jerry found himself staring at a poster with a bunch of artists on it, one of them being Matthew Good. I think Jerry wanted to have his child. After a few minutes of standing around I wanted a shirt. I headed off to the shirt place and waited in line. When I reached the front I must have been standing there for a good 20 to 30 minutes waiting to be served. Stupid inconsiderate bitch kept taking her time asking what other people wanted, who weren't even there as long as I was, but eventually she saw me leaning on the table and asked me. After all that and 35 bux less in my pocket I walked away with a Foo shirt, cause they kick ass!

I found the other hump-fucks and went up into the stands to sit. There were two different stages. A village stage (small) and the main stage. I didn't actually notice anyone playing until someone pointed them out. Sum 41 was the first ones up but you would never know it unless you looked over there. The other bands pretty much suckie as well until A Perfect Circle came on. Maynard James Keenan puts on an awesome show, just as well if not more so than when he is with Tool. Then the Foo hit the stage. Although their performance was awesome, I thought it was rather short. Near the end of the set, Dave Grohl switched places with the drummer for a song to which I wasn't familiar with. Sometime during the show I decided I wanted a beer. Shane didn't want any beer cause he thought he didn't need any to have a good time. Well until everyone else decided they wanted a beer as well, Shane caved in and wanted one too.

Our lady Peace came on sometime after, and I would have to agree with Shane, although they played pretty good, I thought their perfomance to be a little on the dull and boring side. Cause they are pretty much dull and boring to begin with. I don't have all their stuff, and after watching them I came to the conclusion that I know I won't buy anymore of their CD's.

Then at last came the Smashing Pumpkins. Anyone who says that SP suck live probably never saw them live to begin with. They rocked that stage. Billy Corgan was wearing his infamous black dress garb that he wears in most of their newer videos. I just had one question. Where can I get that funky clothing from? About halfway they did a cover of "Don't you want me" by Human Touch with Melissa starting off. They did an overall outstanding job with their performance and would have to rate them a 4.5 out of 5. Of course at the end of their set, everyone was hoping for an encore, and so was I, but none came. Oh well.

Overall a good show but, the only thing bad I could say about Summersault was the sound. The technicians did a half-fast job setting up which only resulted in poor sound. I think the audience as well as the bands deserved better.

After the show was over, we hopped back on the LRT and drove over to Boston Pizza for something to eat. The waitress was an absolute hottie. I knew that I must have her but also knew it was never meant to be. Anyways after we decided to play some pool, the waitress eventually came over and gave us some loonies for the juke cause she wanted one of us to dance with her, but she never did cause she was probably too busy. Soon it was time to go, and after dropping everyone off at home I was glad to finally go home myself, considering my contact lenses were ready to come out. Well G's, that's my review of the events Summersault. Overall, I thought the best bands were A Perfect Circle, Foo Fighters and the Smashing Pumpkins. It would have been complete if there was a 1.95 lap dance at the end.

dwayne forgot to mention my amazing job transforming into a homie in order to impress our lovely boston pizza hottie, but that's alright, g'nite..
