Working long hours sucks. Working long hours and not seeing your daughter for 24 hours at a time really sucks. The fact that I spend more hours working than she does AWAKE is kind of bothering me right now. (No, I'm not frustrated at work, this is in fact the first week where I've actually been busy. Unfortunately it's a flood of work, not a trickle).

Had a big weekend. E managed to pull herself up to a standing position, adding that feat to her arsenal of sitting and waving bye bye (when we say bye bye). Yippee!
She also showed her sympathetic side, crying when mom was getting her teeth cleaned.
Here's hoping my dates get fixed.

Quiet day, got stuck at work late last night, so not much elizabeth news. She continues to grin madly, showing off her teeth, she seems to know that 'bye bye' means to wave, and she trys to 'shhhh' us back when we shush her. Quite the mimic that kid.

E got a little haircut yesterday. It was more of a trim, to get the bangs out of her eyes. Not bad for a couple of rookies.

Not much to report on elizabeth today, but there's never enough information on SIDS, so here's a recent link from my.yahoo. Such a scary, tragic problem.

Oh, and Elizabeth is now successfully getting herself into a sitting position on her own, from a crawl. Yay!

Well, Elizabeth still won't stand on her own. Her new game is to stand leaning on something (which she loves to do), then falling backwards into our arms. I guess she trusts us!
We tried giving her a strawberry, which she didn't much care for. Bananas are still her favorite.
Yesterday we went to a birthday party for a five year old, complete with magician. The kids were so into it, it was great. Just real refreshing seeing kids being kids, and not being cynical. The magician was good too, as he had them participating and yelling out and stuff. Good show!

DadaData is my blog of links related to being parents. Some good articles, some not so good. Eventually I might do little icons to denote what type of link it is (bad news like school shootings, good news like miracle babies). My usual audience probably won't be all that interested in all these links, so I decided to separate it from my main site (over here), and I wanted to try out this blogger tool, hence DadaData was born.

Please send me your links and thoughts on anything you find in here. I hope to meet some other folks in similar positions.
