Well, instead of linking to another poem, here is a villanelle I just wrote, trying to use as few words as possible. One, afraid; none. as begun made just one. spun, then weighed: now none. and undone will fade, to one. then run, it’s played back to none. when redone… as strayed… one to none.

The Viking poem. So spoke my mother I should be bought a ship and fair oars sail fourth with Vikings standing in the prow sail the good Longship to far away places slay a man and another -- thus in honor of the greatest day this month, Leif Erikson day -- At least when he came and "discovered" this land where other people lived, he was a Viking, not some wimpy guy. Go Leif Go! Leif Landed First!

the emperor of ice-cream A bit on a lighter note, mister stevens provides us with a crazy piece of work. But it's true, cause you can see he's saying that imagination and the senses are what make us real. ice brings the imagination level and cream brings in taste and the senses.

okay, this poem isn't really amazing or moving, but damn did it surprise me. loose woman is the name, and I don't know if I should mention the game. see.. just read the line about her chin being flung up higher than she'd want. I think that should give it away, but I didn't notice this until my prof actually told us. Almost everyone in the class missed the whole point. Crazy, huh.

what's that? you want to see something really really transformational? Something self referential? okay. check the tunnel for that stuff. It's all about the trouble humans have with change, ya know? Sometimes, all the effort in the world won't move you unless you want to be moved.

I'm still working on understanding everything in this poem, but it's an interesting modern love letter.. if that's what it is.i forgive you, to put it simply, for being alive, and parden you, in short, for being you. Love, 20c the First Quarter Mile -- It has a fun title, too. I don't know anything about Mr. Fearing, though. It has tons of alliteration and a lot of compound-complex sentence structures, which go along with the level of memory/thought.

otherwise by jane kenyon I don't have anything interesting to say, isn't that sad? She's either from Ann Arbor or lived here or something.

I never really got into e.e. cummings up to this point. I don't know why. But we just read as freedom is a breakfastfood, and I love it. I don't know, the way cummings can say things without making logical structures is something I want to be able to do better.will being pay the rent of seem deeds cannot dream what dreams can do

Friend -- I can't forget how even the word contains an end. It's short and it ends without ending, but I still like What I Like by local (to me) Alice Fulton. I could be sitting in class with her next year.. sort of.
