"When I take action, I'm not going to fire a $2 million missile at a $10 empty tent and hit a camel in the butt. It's going to be decisive." -- President George W. Bush

On the other hand, Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson are also idiots no better than the extreme Islamic fundamentalists.

Kindness, bravery amid the horror. This is one of many stories which allows me to continue to have hope in the innate goodness of people everywhere inspite of what took place, even in New York City with their less than stellar reputation.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT
I didn't find out about all this until around 10:50 a.m. CST. I was buying lunch at the Derald's catering truck on north Matthews and I could hear an audio feed coming from apparently CBS news. It talked about a building collapsing and I really didn't think much about it. As I paid for the sandwich, I casually asked Doug "what is going on?" He replied that 2 planes have rammed the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, a plane crash in Pittsburgh, and another plane might still be missing and that "there's no World Trade Center anymore."
I couldn't believe it. I thought he was pulling my leg. It wasn't so. I rushed to my dad's office and had him catch me up on the news. He confirmed the story and I immediately went on a computer to catch up on the news. My god. I hope the country can unite under our President, put aside partisan differences, and try to pull through this together. The video of the members of Congress singing God Bless America was truly touching.
