Sorry for snickering. It shows you got cojones. But it's a little light on the eloquence.

"When I take action, I'm not going to fire a $2 million missile at a $10 empty tent and hit a camel in the butt. It's going to be decisive."

You didn't really say that...did you?

It seems as if the fighting between the Israelis and the Palestinians keeps getting nastier and more brutal than ever. I can't imagine that those two are ever going to get along unless somebody steps in and breaks up the fight.

Now I know why you're not that eager to get involved. Stick your nose into somebody else's business and they're likely to pop you one.

Believe me I know. I once came across two guys pounding the shit out of a third guy at the beach. I shoved them apart and said "now can't we be reasonable and discuss this like men?" At which point the two guys turned on me and beat the shit out of me. But at least I can sleep nights knowing that the third guy, who crawled off and ran away without so much as a "howdy-dp" didn't get murdered that night. Maybe I even laid down my life for that guy.

Sometimes you got to stick your nose into things, not because it's the smart thing to do but because it's the right thing to do.

Now there you go. Spend 15 minutes at a Habitat jobsite and you get the headline "Bush Builds Habitat House in Waco."

Fifteen minutes a day is all it takes. Now go do something about global warming...

Worker productivity is up, higher than the analysts expected. Seems like it would be a good time to go out and do some cheerleading for the economy. And if that's too tough, maybe it's time to remodel the kitchen at the ranch. Some nice publicity shots with some brand-name building materials in the background could give consumers a little confidence.

Maureen walked six miles yesterday. Of course, it's not so hot where we live. Better be careful, though. There's a lot of heat stroke going around these days.

What's up with that tax cut? I thought it was a done deal. Maybe it's time to call in some favors-- it's your only ticket to eight more years. After all, who's going to beat you by saying "yup, sure I'll raise your taxes. Vote for me."

I hear so many good things about Texas these days. I really need to visit sometime.
