I just received a email from my father telling me about the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. He has found the record of the grave of my great uncle (my father's uncle), Harold Pidwell, who was killed in action on 16th September, 1916 in Serre, Somme, France. Although I knew he was killed in the Somme, reading about the location of his death was quite an emotive and sobering experience, even removed as I am by close to 85 years. I have some of my family tree on the web. If you'd like to view it please contact me for the address and password.

Well, I've just discovered Blogger which believe it or not makes this sort of episodic page easily possible. At this current moment, I am also watching the Oscars. Roberto Benini is about to present best actress. I must say I am happy that The Matrix got the Oscars for best sound and best special effects, and Stars Wars :The Phantom Menace didn't. I enjoyed Phantom Menace at lot, but it didn't compare to the Matrix. I've also added about six movies to my "to see" list. I picked them mostly from the medley of great movie songs. BTW Hilary Swank won best actress for Boys don't Cry. I must see it.
