Yes, i totally love the shine our sun has to offer. Now......I know the rays are a totally different story. {sigh}, I think today i should steer clear of as many depressing issues about the human body as possible. With taking the medical conditions course, ya start to check yourself out and wonder... hey...is that why this or that is happening to me.... when you really know they are so many altervative symptons for disease and what not,.....alot of it is just a great big mishmash. I mean shit...did anything i just print make any sense whatsoever. Moving right along. I putting togetther this real neat project in class right now that is going to be for my 10 yr old. I happend to know that she misses her chore chart, with the graph that you line the stars up on for each of her responsibilities. Anyway, in one of my classes, the instructor assigned the construction of three different adaptive devices. one of which i chose that's something similiar to the chart my daughter misses. I's a "communication board". You are suppose to be able to write and erase on it, you know, with those colorful markers. At any rate, bottom line is, the one i creative shows three sections....self-care....productivity...leisure. It is adorable. There are specific pictures under each section i chose that will send a message to my little one, cues of her responsibilities. I just know it'll work. I hope she will like it. [knowing my girl, she will most likely try to read the board from finish to start, in her world, leisure seems to always take priority] AND SHE KNOWS THAT I KNOW THIS SO IT'S OKAY IF SHE EVER READS THIS......ALOT OF CHILDREN ARE LIKE MY SWEETHEART. Hot potatoes, do i feel good or what. Don't ya just love moments like that. Why hell, i don't even have the urge to eat anything sweet. Life is all good. Monday, February 26, 2001
Some days I just surprise myself. Like today. Everything went so smoothly. The tasks I scheduled were getting done, bam, one two three. Geeee. The confidence I carried along…that is….until I got to one of my classes and opened my big mouth. You see, a week ago I completed a paper on a particular subject, well, to be specific...... agenesis of the corpus callosum, and, tonight, had to present the article in front of my classmates, I remembered it needed to be done, BUT, what I forgot was to print myself another copy for reference as I did the presentation. So, I asked to use the one she had. The instructor, you know, had to have one “to follow”. I can’t understand why, she should know it already; she had a week to grade the written part. Anyway. If I had only said that I didn’t like to idea of killing trees or something, she wouldn’t have labeled me as being “unprepared’. That is all I needed to hear. Completely screwed up my ability to relax in from of class. I mean, damm, I knew the material. Afterwards, the instructor even said she could tell that I know the stuff, but I PRESENTED myself as UNPREPARED. You would think that it was a speech presentation class or something….at any rate…it’s done and over. Sooooooooooon, college will over, I’ll be getting paid for all the work I do, not to mention, the most important being is that the work I perform will be rewarding Friday, February 23, 2001
Oh boy. I’ve got my 12 year old sobbing that all her friend has to do is empty the dishwasher and clean her room. Ironically, at this point in the life of my 12 year old, that’s just about all she has been asked to do. I feel that freeing her to grow culturally, play instrument, do creative activities, participate in the sport activities offered by the school district, and so forth, is important for her. But, I have come to learn that my older daughter and I should not need to handle all the things done at home, we all need to do them as a “family unit”. Okay…okay…it sounds like I am preaching….and I am….to myself!!! Ultimately, my goal is to get my girls doing without being asked to. My ten year old….. well……I’ve got to make a daily list of her responsibilities, pick up clothes, feed her pet, do the homework, bring me the planner to sign, make the bed, and load the dishwasher. And ya know, she hasn’t complained one little bit. Don’t cha love it. Now, do you think that is too much? I mean, what I ask of them. I don’t.... but I’m open for comments. In the meantime….I think I’ll go bloggin around for a few minutes. Wait….just one more little comment .... from me. Hey……thank you sweet Addiemae. You are a fine young lady. I will never forget when you were 8 yrs. old, caring for me while I leaned over the edge of my bed puking my brains out, you cleaning it up, then making dinner for yourself and your 3 yr. old sister; then bringing your newborn sister to me whenever she needed….CONTINUALLY FOR MORE THAN TWO WEEKS. Oh, and don’t let me overlook the simple fact I never asked you to do your homework, and am proud of how you even maintained honor grades! It must have been difficult to fill the role of your father…who took a job located in Germany since I was eight months pregnant, not returning til your youngest sister was over 6 months old. Actually, I could go on with why I thank you for all the years you helped me raise them! I don’t think they realize how lucky they really were, and still are. Thank you for being such a loving child....I’m glad you are responsible, making good choices in life and all…..but most of all,

I have made a decision today. One that has been weighing on my mind for a long long time. My children will watch less television. Somehow, they seem to convince me that “this is my favorite show” I become mentally drained, and oh yeah, I let them watch it. But, today, I have made a decision. They will not. I am happy. They will be angry with me now, but later, they will be happy. And yes, It took the realllllly reallllly strong encouragement from their older sister to accomplish this step in our life. Thank you sweet Addiemae. I love you Adelina. I love all my children. Monday, February 19, 2001
just a note to you. about my mom. dont sign her guestbook. she doesnt check it everyday. and she doesnt want you to. [insert scarcasm here] (by the way this is her daughter from phunkystew.com telling all of you to sign the damn guestbook. let her know you were here.)
Thank you so much sweet Addiemae. Totally adore the new look. Although I reeeally reeeeeeally want to SMASH this computer, it’s the fun thing like web sites and blogs that stop me (and yes, the day will come that I WILL work on it). They way I look at it, if I can walk dead center into my house with a water hose and point blank, literally soak my brother (who was shocked as anything), I probably would smash it. But even still, I realize that it probably is the software program the creep bill gates designed. (I’d make him even small if i could). But even further, maybe this thing has a virus…whatever….dam thing up and performed an illegal operation (NO…WASN’T MY FAULT)…wiping out 3 hours of hard work. Addiemae, next time, you know I will call YOU! (just hope there is never a next time) gee. Between my youngest feeling ill (fever and all) and the school holidays (for them not me), I cried. On a better note, back to the textbooks (yea…my children sort of thinks I’m a little weird) going to be a good day… the sun is shinning! Thursday, February 15, 2001
Now why couldn’t yesterday be like today….weatherwize I mean. Anyhow, long day again. But oh how delicious the dinner was that my daughter prepared, the aroma pulled me in as i walked in the door, definately was what I needed after a long day. Hell, i was pacing the kitchen floor waiting for it to finish cooking (those 10 minuted seemed like 100). Let's see, today i made a cock-up functional splint in OT fundamentals, and a decoupauged plack in OT skill & media II. Of course, the main object of the craft activity was in the "process of doing" and then analyzing, analyzing, analyzing. I know I know, boooorrrrrring, BUT, not to everyone though. Hey, I really should get to working on a paper that is due Monday. Go eat a cookie. Yea, I think I will. Wednesday, February 14, 2001
What a lovely day. Cold and rainy outside. Muddy. Ummm the bottom line, just lovely. I could really kick myself in the butt…although my youngest daughter #3 tells me she needs thirty valentine cards…completed…in less than 30 minutes, I should have been much more composed…I flipped….I am stupid and I am sorry. I designed, printed, folded and cut them with fancy sissors. The cards we made were cute. My daughter is even lovlier.
Now daughter #1..we went on a campus tour and on my goodness…what a relief…she has decided upon a major (and who cares if she changes it, least she has made a decision…deciding…that’s what it’s about!!!) AND she has finalllllllllleeeeee decided what college to get her four year degree at!!!!1 YaaaaaaHoooooo aleigh lu ya say amen!
And oh yes…daughter #2…thank you very much…DECIDED she would skip basketball practice today…..don’t misunderstand me…..I’m happy she made the team (one of seven picked out of over 100)….but oh yea…I don’t need to make the trip to the school picking her up and dropping her off and the next stop…only to have to PICK THEM UP if the father doesn’t make it (a lot of times he doesn’t).
Now lets see…the exhausted MOM (partly due to my inability to control myself in a STRESSFULLY IMPOSED CIRCUMSTANCE) needs to tend to her homework that is, ummmmm, really building up.
All in all
