I'm on Co-op this quarter |
The song is wrong. 1 is not the lonliest number three is. Here is the proof. Lets say you go out with two other freinds that happen to be dating, going out, whatever you want to call it. You basically get ignored, except that seeing the couple makes it much lonlier. Thats what happend last night. Sucks huh? Oh well tonight I'm going out with Amy.
I'm back at school, living up the dorm life. The Freshmen are haveing the standard away from the nest reaction. Going out and getting trashed every night. Oh well. Stomp is tommorw. Both Amy and I are really excited. I'm kind of nervious about the 2 hours of driving time, I don't want it to be awkward silence. The only other question is how do I develop the relationship futher?
A moment of silence to those who died or were injured this morning in the World Trade Center disaster.
Well it's that time again. For the next week or so I will be ofline due to the moving process. Updates may happen, but I dought it. Dlgreen, out.
Today my STOMP tickets came in the mail and I got all excited (they reminded me who I was going with). I open up the envelope and discovered that they were normal tickets, nothing special. Talk about a anticlimactic ending to the story, huh?
So a few days ago my parents and I are watching a movie that my sister declaired that we "just had to see". When all of a sudden my mom screams "I think there is a bat or some small flying creature in our basement!!" and runs into the kitchen. This prompts a similar reaction from my sister, leaving my dad and I to deal with it. We go down to the basement, turn all the lights on and the bat heads for the darkest corner in the basement and lands. I cover it up with a towel and carry it outside to check it for injuries and let it go. What I didn't realize is how cute bats are. It was like a mouse with wings. I let it fly away. Talk about a little excitement to spice up your evening. Now the only question left is how did I manage to forget to blog about that?!?
Traditionally in development of products for corporate America, when the customer comes to tell you what they want there is three things they can specify: function, schedule, and cost. The customer can only pick two of them, so if you pick a date and a cost, don't plan on getting something that does anything specific. Likewise if you pick function and date, plan on throwing buckets of money at the project. Which two would you pick?
New and Improved: dlgreen.com. Now viewable in Netscape (even if it doesn't look good), but at least it doesn't crash netscape 4.06 anymore. Anyway, I still have more work to do here so I'm off.
I just spent 20 min on hold but I got my Tickets for Amy and me to go to STOMP later this month. Scary thing. The box office lady asked me if I had ordered tickets before (so they could pull up my info) of cource I say yes and then she goes. Oh, you've seen STOMP before. [insert blank look from me here]. That was 2 maybe 3 years ago. How long Corp. America steals our privacy for "data collection". Or even worse, what if it has already happend and we never noticed?
Does anyone remember the IBM's comercial from last year. The one where the guy is ranting about the year 2000 and the future. Well I agree. This is the future. Where are the flying cars. I was promised flying cars. I want my flying cars.
Have you ever noticed how one word from someone can destoy your entire day/weekend. Up untill now, my weekend was great (even with the amount of work I put in yesterday). But then I called Matt, and all he said was 'bye'. I haven't seen Matt all summer, and in the last month he has said one word total to me ('bye' remember?), and he only lives a mile away. Up untill this summer we were inseperable, and now he won't even talk to me. I don't think he is mad at me, but then again I don't really know (he won't talk to me). I just worried and confused (and my weekend went to hell in one word).

On the way home from the game, I must have seen 10-15 cops, all having pulled people over. They weren't kidding about crashing down on speeders this weekend. Every single speedtrap from school to my house had a cop in it. Jezz, I couldn't go faster than 65mph (the speed limit). Grrr I hate driving slow.
Yesterday, I went and worked at my school's football game. In 6 hours of being open, my stand did $19,000 worth of business. Our stand alone sold 500 hot dogs (if I ever see one again I'm going to barf) and over 1000 bottles of water. The entire stadium sold out of water which means that 300 casses of bottled water was sold. The lines at our stand were at least 20 people deep from the time the gates opened till the game ended, and a halftime it was only worse. Oh well, I made 70 bucks in tips.
I had to buy gas today. Gezz is it getting expensive. It was like 1.85 today and 18 gallons at that price adds up fast.
My thoughts on gas prices: The gas companies have it figgured out. They have realized if they jack the price up for a holiday weekend the public doesn't really outcry, they just go "oh, it's a holiday weekend. The price always goes up." and only people who need to buy gas purchase it. But then after the weekend when it goes back down some the public mind compares the price to the weekends price and thinks "Oh thats cheap." Even though the price is 20 cents higher than it was before the weekend. My prediction. The gas price will drop down to about $1.40 ($.20 more than it was before labor day) over the next week. If thats not price fixing I don't know what is.
When I was a child, I said what I thought, and sometimes I was very harsh. For instance, when I was four or five I went to a McDonalds with my Dad. When it came time to order, I said "Gimme a hamburger...and none of your pickle lady" to the clerk. Jezz that was harsh.
You know. Up untill today I had seen some pretty wierd things. But today I saw the wierdest thing I have ever seen, and probably will ever see. The gigantic butter PDA weighing in at 50 pounds is the winner. It's just plain wierd (creepy, scary, whichever adjective you want to use).
I think my favorite thing on the "Top 10 Things to do with a 50-pound butter PDA" is #4. A "Heathy Midwestern snack that melts in your mouth not in you Palm" Plain sick.
Salon.com has a article about Ray Badbury and how all of a sudden his books are getting a lot of attention from holywood. There is talk of a new movie version of his bookFahrenheit 451 although I have trouble beliveing that it will better than the original movie.
My pirate name is Mad Davy Kidd, whats yours? Some people have too much time on their hands, although I admit it did entertain me for a few min.
