Well yesterday my cousin passed away. I kinda knew it was coming. Well not that soon, but I could tell the Lord was trying to prepare me for it when it happened. Like on Friday was thinking how aI could visit him if we went to Arkansas for Thanksgiving and something, well in my heart I knew that he wasn't going to be around. And on Saturday I said my prayers and I prayed for my cousin and then this sort of heaviness was on me. Almost sadness. And after we got home from church, my mother got a call from the family telling us that he was gone.Man it's almost weird. I mean I don't get to see my family that often, but when I do, he's not going to be there. And I miss him, but I know he's in a better place now. I mean he wasn't like the most devote Christian, but I honestly believe that that time he spent in the hospital, a whole month, the Lord was getting him ready. Anybody else who would have been shot in the head like that, would have been dead already. My mom said that my aunt and cousin(his sister) would pray with him and even though he was in a coma he would respond. Like if they said squeeze my hand he would do it. She said that he even opened his eyes, but they weren't responsive. So no, when they told me that I didn't think he was going to get out the bed and start walking. It's sad though.

Well I'm sitting here contemplating WHY I came home this weekend. I haven't found a good reason yet. My brother went to the Grambling/TSU game. I should've tried to go but oh well. Letha went too, but I didn't get a chance to talk to her before she came home. So I've been sitting here, bored all day. I could be bored at school, at least I have friends I can be bored with. Woe is me... *s* Anyways I'm taking a minute to blog in my very neglected website. My week was full of many ups and downs. I had 3 test this week. All of them were yuck. And my scores on Wednesday were yuck too. My average went down 2 points. I was so mad. I was cussin' all up and down my lane. Yeah I know, that's a bad testimony. Somebody pray for me please! My Lab teacher let us out super early on Wednesday, so I was grateful for that. That was Kevia's birthday too, so we were running around trying to get her something. I burned her Yolanda Adams, and we got her a little book on Friendship and this cute Oprah Winfrey card... I'm going to have to scan it. Oh and an African art poster. The biggest day last week was Thursday. I had a crazy full schedule. Barely made it to my first class. Stepped off in there funkier than Parliament and fought hard not to go to sleep. Patty helps me stay awake though, she and I talked about if I was joining ALO or if I wanted to be an AKA... long story I can't explain right now. Then I had to help her and Rae w/ the flyers for the Christian sorority(ALO) they're starting on campus. That took forever so I stepped off in another class funky. Not really funky, but not that fresh baby powder smell I usually have. *LOL* I bolted outta that class and headed back to my room so I could take a shower. Since I was home I watched Passions and then headed back to class. And he let us out out early. After that I just chilled in the room because I knew I had things to do that afternoon. At about 5 I went and got a sandwich from the student center because the cup of noodle I had for lunch was not hittin' it. I saw Christie and Coco. And they were looking at Coco's pictures for her photography class. She had a picture of Walter looking FINE. I was like good Lord have mercy. And Walter is a nice looking brother, but Daaaaaaaaaaaaag.... an the one w/ the water. Mmmm... I wanted to ask for the negatives. ;p That evening Temple went to this carnival for the kids. I don't celebrate Halloween, but I had a lot of fun. Kids are so cute. There was this little boy in a devil costume. He was so cute! He looked like he just started walking. He was trying to throw this bean bag at some cans... poor baby wasn't even close so they knocked them down for him at the booth. And then there was a bumblebee in a stroller and when Temple rubbed his stomach he made this cute little laugh! I had to take a picture. And after that I went to choir practice... late than a mug. It was krunk though. I love singing in the gospel choir. I went home feeing all good and stuff when I got back to the room. Good and tired, but I had to fight to get up in morning for Biology... yick. Lord help me.

Well this was an eventful week. I really haven't been up to writting in this or doing much of anything, but I want people to know that I am still alive and well. :) I had 3 test this week, 3 meetings to go to, 2 officers meetings and I had lab on Wednesday. By the time Thursday rolled around, I just wanted to leave and go home but I am cool. I did bowl a 143 on Wednesday which happens to be a high score for me...
A friend of my mine from GEA had a birthday on Friday so I bought him a cake and a card and I had a lot of people sign it. I even gave him one of my dying roses. He's so cute. He has a little afro so he broke the stem and he tucked it behind his ear. Ghetto Fabulous. *LOL* But he's sweet. He's one of those people who smiles and everybody smiles around him.
Then we had movie night. We watched The Wood. My friend had never seen it. So you have about 10 college students sitting around watching this movie and some home we end up talking about marriage. I was like um okay. It was cool for a minute but I could see if people were getting a little depressed, well some of them, so I didn't put The Best Man. We watched Major Payne instead. *LOL* I know some people really wanted to see it, but I was like "Oh well." No sense being more depressed, ya know? *LOL* Crazy.
And I talked to my mother today. They put the money in the bank that my grandparents sent me for my books and things. And I got a another check from them for my birthday yesterday. They're so sweet. We're there only grandchildren so they spoil us sometimes. My grandparents on my mom sides has like 15 on their side, a great-grand child and one on the way.
Anyways she told me my cousin is holding on. I'm not really worried because I know the Lord is doing His thing and that He already has things work out, but I can't help but feel a little sad for my auntie. And the doctors told her that my cousin wouldn't be here past last Friday, but he is so shows you how much the doctors know. They can tell you anything, but if that's not what God wants, that's not what's going to happen. Ya know? I'm just praying everything works out okay.
I talk to my oldest lil brother today. He called me at 7:30 this morning. It's 8:30 on the East Coast and he had to get up early anyway he said because they had them cleaning the barracks. He was telling me what he wanted in his little package that I'm going to try to send him. He is so crazy I had to be up for church in a little bit and he was steadily talking to me... *LOL* I was happy to hear from him, even though I was so tired after I got home from church. All I did was sleep. But I was glad to see my pastor was back from the hospital. He had cancer and now he's recouperating. Yay! God is good. Well I know this is really long, but that's only because i had a long week and didn't get a chance to write in this thing. So excuse the grammatical errors because a sista's in a hurry...

Well I'm the big 21! Yes. My birthday was Thursday. My parents sent me 21 roses and some of the girls on my floor got me a cheesecake(strawberry), a balloon tied to some candy, a little stuffed bowling doll and a rose & a card. Some of my friends took me out to eat and our waiter was real sweet. He bought me out a free dessert for my birthday w/ six spoons for me and my friends because the "slice" of pie was so big. Then he insisted they help him sing happy birthday to me and then he tried to persuade the people in the restuarant And he didn't charge me for my Shirley Temple either. *LOL* Yes I still drink those... When I came back from eating I chilled in the room for a little while before choir practice. It was our first "practice" practice and it went pretty well. We have a new director and he is off the hook. And I got to see Brother Wayne too. I miss my GEA people! They sang happy birthday to me and e'erything. *LOL* I did miss my brother's call though. He called the room a few time and my cell phone to tell me happy birthday and I missed all of those. My roommate and I went to this "gathering" that turned out to be a grip of people at Nita's and Cindy's place and missed my brother's call again, but I called him back even though it was after 1 AM. He said he was knocked out, but he was glad to hear from me. I'm going to have to send him a package because he said he hasn't received any mail lately. So I had a really good birthday. I felt so special! The only bad thing was that my brother told me that my cousin got shot... on my birthday. Dang. He's in the hospital right now. He's not in the best shape, but I heard my mother say that his pulse is getting stronger. I'm not really worried, I'm just praying about it. I know the Lord is going to work it out. He does everything for a reason. Man. My cousin needs to get out of Little Rock.
