Idiots.
From NextDraft:
Idiot, jackass and dangerous piece of garbage Jerry Falwell has been blaming the attack in part on those who "tried to secularize America" such as abortionists, feminists, homosexuals, the ACLU and People for the American Way. His jackass partner in stupid idiocy Pat Robertson supported the comments. I say we react to this nonsense in the same way we are reacting to other challenges. Anyone who harbors these shitheads, who watches these fools, who films them, who supports them - all of them should be held accountable for this assault on decency. Anyone who has given these jokers a dime should issue an apology to the victims of this tragedy and the rest of sane society and a promise never to support these lunatics again.
I couldn't have said it better myself.

Did I actually say Madonna has talent? Whoa... I must be tired. I should have said brains. Yes, that's what she has. Forgive the mistake.

So, we called up our good friend Dell, head of Sony Signatures, in order to have him grab us some tickets for last night's Madonna show. I was pretty indifferent about seeing her because frankly, I can't really stomach her. But, I figured it'd be a good distraction from all that's gone on this week, and besides this is supposedly her last concert run. Anyway, made it out to L.A. just in time, and I must say, with my experiences with her today, it's only proven that she is in fact a horrible person. She is nothing more than a greedy, money hungry whore. That's not to say I don't respect her talent... but as a person.. forget about it.
And the show... the show, the show, the show... we essentially got front row tickets since they came directly from her camp, and I can't say that I was all that impressed with the gig. I'll get into it more in my next post, well, probably not, but maybe. I'll just say that I was much more excited to see Morrissey right across from me. I don't know why, but that just blew my mind.
Okay, heading out to Santa Barbara early tomorrow morning. Must get some sleep.
Goodnight.

Not much to really say.
I just want to urge everyone to donate whatever they can to this horrible disaster. Whether it be monetary, blood, or time, it's needed. If nothing at all, this event has shown that wherever and whoever you are, you never know when you may need the assistance of someone else. So, if you can, please help.

How could this happen?
Like the rest of the world, I think I'm pretty much in shock over everything that's happened today. I know that attacks like these happen throughout the world, sometimes daily, and that it shouldn't make a difference that this happened to be in my country, but it does. Maybe it's naive, but I don't think you can help but be more affected by something like this when it happens in your own nation.
It's so hard to understand and it seems so damn senseless. All day I've been trying to understand what's been going on and why it had to happen, and there aren't any answers. I've realized that you can't rationalize an irrational situation, and that's exactly what it is.
Regardless, my heart goes out to all of the victims and their families. I guess in a way, this has made us all victims. God knows that nothing else is ever going to be the same again.

Has anyone else noticed that almost all of Penelope Cruz's movies can be turned into porn titles? Some examples:
Framed Don Juan Twice Upon a Yesterday The Hi-Lo Country Woman on Top All the Pretty Horses Blow Captain Correlli's Mandolin Vanilla Sky
In fact, all of her U.S. Major Releases are porn friendly. Makes you wonder, huh?

I feel tired. Tired, and lonely, and sad. I feel like no one else could possibly understand because I don't even understand. I find myself asking, "What's happening?" and "Where and how did it all go wrong?" The questions repeat in my head, but the answers never come. Therefore, I probably shouldn't expect one when I wonder what it is that I'm supposed to do now. I'll be 25 next month, and it's depressing to think that my best years have already come and gone. I honestly can't imagine the rest of my life being anything but alone, dissatisfying, and void of happiness. I guess that's just the way it goes.
This entry may read familiar because I've written it before, in varying forms. Nothing ever changes.

It's 4:45 a.m. and I've yet to go to bed. Too much going on inside my head and I never know how to make it stop. I need an "off" switch. Unfortunately, I don't have one, so I've been passing the time doing whatever it is I could think of - let me tell you, it wasn't much. I have to be up in about 20 minutes, so getting any sleep doesn't look like it's gonna happen. I've got a full day ahead of me and I know it's gonna kill me.
Wish me luck.

Recognition, wow. Earlier today, someone pulled me aside to have a conversation with me. In essence, she did so in order to tell me that she appreciated me. It felt good, but at the same time, strange. Strange because it was unfamiliar. I've never had that happen before. In the past, people have told me that they've appreciated things I've done or given them, but this was different. This person was telling me that she appreciated me and just who I am. She took the time out to let me know this just because she felt it needed to be acknowledged, and she did so without cause or intention. It's blown me away. I can't explain the significance of this. All I can say is that it meant a lot me.
I think everyone should take the time out to let others know stuff like that. You never know just how much they might need to hear it. I know I did.

For the record, I find it amusing when people try to challenge other people into proving something about themselves, and when that person declines, they're seen as "whimping out," or not being able to back themselves up. For instance, people often call into question what I do/done for a living. They mainly do this because of my age and I really think they have nothing else better to do. Anyway, when someone tries to get me to prove myself, I decline. I'm just not the type of person who feels that I have to justify or prove myself. I feel like, you either believe me or you don't. I'm not going to sit there and argue with you because it doesn't mean anything to me. The thing is, when I do that, the other person always thinks that I'm copping out. Why? Because if they were in that situation, "they'd fight 'til the death to prove you wrong." I honestly don't understand that mentality. Not the, "I'd fight to prove you wrong" thing, but being unable to accept the idea that someone else could decide not to accept your challenge because it doesn't matter to them.
Actually, I take back what I said earlier. It's not funny, it's sad.

"I can already feel myself going to a bad place I used to go... It's kind of like when you look at yourself in the mirror and you say your name. And it gets to a point where none of it seems real. Well, sometimes, I can do that, but I don't need an hour in front of a mirror. It happens very fast, and things start to slip away. And I just open my eyes, and I see nothing. And then I start to breathe really hard trying to see something, but I can't. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, it scares me... I can't think again. Not ever again. I don't know if you've ever felt like that. That you wanted to sleep for a thousand years. Or just not exist. Or just not be aware that you do exist. Or something like that. I think wanting that is very morbid, but I want it when I get like this. That's why I'm trying not to think. I just want it all to stop spinning. If this gets any worse I might have to go back to the doctor, it's getting that bad again." - The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Something to think about...
Just because you apologize to someone, doesn't mean they have to accept. Just because someone accepts, doesn't mean they have to forgive you. Just because someone forgives you, doesn't mean they have to let you back into their life again. And just because someone lets you back into their life again, doesn't mean that things will ever be the same.
Lesson learned? Think about your actions and all the possible ramifications before you proceed. And don't ever hurt anyone, intentionally or not. You might not ever be able to repair the damage.

The arrogance of youth is a beautiful thing.
Last night, a friend and I were talking about how much easier life is when you’re younger. When you’re younger, you have all the answers. You know exactly where you’re headed, what you’re going to be doing, and what you want. You also know exactly what you believe in, and furthermore, you know that what you believe is right and the way it is, and no one can change your mind about that. You’re so unshakable in your teens and you totally control your world. Granted, you’re in control because your world, at that point, is incredibly small, but still, it’s simpler. Things just seemed so cut and dry back then.
Unfortunately, you get older. And with age, comes confusion. Here I am, at 24 and I don’t know anything. I don’t have a clue about where life is taking me or where I want to go. (I’m not exactly certain that life is even taking me anywhere or if I want to be going anywhere, but that’s a different story.) Ask me what I believe in, and I couldn’t tell you. I have absolutely no opinion on the meaning of life, the existence or non-existence of God, the time/space continuum… nothing. I have no opinion because I find that the older I get the less I know. I think as you get older your mind expands and you begin to see things that you couldn’t before. As a result, your belief system shatters and you’re left in a pool of chaos. Nothing makes sense, and it probably never will again. As each day passes, I realize that I’ll never have the answers to any of the questions I have, and there’s nothing I can do about that but accept it. It’s depressing.
I remember being younger and thinking that life would be so much better when I got older. Now, I just wish I could be 18 again, or at least feel the way I did back then, even if just for a day. Funny, people always tell you that those years will be the best of your life. I should have listened.
