the hype machine behind fox news channel is pretty impressive.
this article is one of many comparisons of their coverage of the current situation with that of cnn, and the ratings. it's amazing to me how msnbc doesn't even merit a mention. (personally, i found the coverage by cnn and abc to be the best, but cnn is now absolutely unwatchable in the afternoon with its "talkback live" crap. fox news rarely catches my interest, and their graphic design just rubs me the wrong way. they certainly won the prize for tackiest musical/graphic "branding" for the current situation.)

i guess it will be easier to protect our freedom and civil liberties if we have
fewer of them.

a little bit ago, i found myself turning up the tv volume, and it eventually hit me that it was because there was an airplane flying overhead. i guess
bur is back. (it was probably a plane being shifted to another airport or a cargo flight, though, since none of the passenger carriers have scheduled flights for today from burbank.)

i live close enough to the
burbank airport that the jets passing overhead can be a bit too loud at times. not for the last two days. i'm ready to hear jets again.

look at
this picture. see the two big buildings? they don't exist any more. it defies comprehension. (and just thinking about the loss of human life melts my brain.)

sometimes it is
just so clear which members of congress have been
bought and fully paid for that it makes me want to vomit.

"possessing the powers of licensed software,

discover how she broke away from the forces of e-vil and found the super powers in license software." apparently you're free to rip off the look and feel of classic games like defender, pitfall, and pole position if it suits your needs, though.

today, i was thinking about what used to be "la caña", a flamenco bar that is next to "the iliad bookstore" and "odyssey" video near my apartment. it would be cool to open a store called "homer's music" there. (it is probably a sign of mental illness that i can see all sorts of fun to be had in a retail business, but the thought of working in an office again makes my skin crawl.)
