oh, and one more thing. 24-28 baby rats were born today, of either two or three mothers. they're in cages in our garage for the time being. until they're, you know, eaten by the fucking snake. how sad.

i'm tired, i'm tired, i'm tired. maybe i'll go to sleep soon.

"'cause terrance and phillip are sweet!"
"Super sweet!"
~ South Park

and maybe i won't sleep.
school today seems like so long ago. even rehearsals, though they went on for quite a while. but caitlin and i had fun. "7:00. your car, or your light."

heehee.

i hope she's okay, my babydoll...

l'shana tova, all. have a good new year.

peace.

I’m incredibly scared of something, and I can’t tell anyone what it is. Even if I could start. Sigh. So just pray that it’ll be ok, eh? If you do the praying thing. Which… very few of you do. but... hope then?

My day today:

Wake up after a little over three hours of sleep to beat south pas traffic
Spanish test first period
History test I didn’t know about third period
Club meeting, involving running back and forth between booths
Vocab quiz I was not prepared for (and late to, due to cleaning up after club booth)
After school, incredibly long, incredibly pointless (for me) callbacks until very late
About twenty minutes after, had to rush to services
They were long. And crowded and hot and political and people were falling asleep.
They ended really well, though.

I’m so incredibly proud to be Jewish right now, and American, too, in some ways. It’s hard to explain. But our service ended with America the Beautiful, which was in the prayer books from decades ago. It was the only good part of the service, really, but it was nice.

maybe i won't watch the rest. it's rather late. not sure.

goodnight to you all, though, since none of you are awake. except ingrid, but that's because she just woke up, to study. man, marlborough fucks us up.

night night...

i have to be at school in about four and a half hours. hmm...

but American Beauty is on, till four. so... we'll see.

"I rule!"

now, though, i'm thirsty.damn.

but it's such a good scene. when he's filming her, the scene from the beginning, only longer.

ew. some of these confessions (yes, i've sunk to the level of watching taxi-cab confessions) are just... weird. not the stuff they're sharing, it's not really that weird. it's just weird that they're so open about them to random taxi drivers. spooky.

don't let me ever do that.

i want... a lot of things. and i shouldn't say many of them. :)

i just watched a very interesting movie. it might really work for Alliance, though there's swearing. i didn't see the whole thing, but what i saw was great. It's called Show Me Love, and it's Swedish or something, about this highschool girl and this girl she likes. it's really sad and happy and good and stuff.

and now i'm watching smutty tv, but that's ok, it's interesting, too. man, this guy has life set up. ok, i should stop telling you all this, it makes me sound like a sicko or something. or maybe not.

hmph. nevermind.

i had a good day. thank you, roach dear, it was fun.

The Day the Towers Fell

"They say what doesn't kill us
Only strengthens what remains.
And no one sees a rainbow
Without going through the rain.
And whether that's still true today,
Time will only tell.
'Cause now we face our darkest time,
The days the towers fell."

i was wondering what other countries thought about this, how it affected them. the first idea i had was from Caio asking if i was ok, the cute little Brazilian boy. and just now i spoke to Racheljoy a bit. and then, zoe linked me to this:

Thank you.

it's inspiring.

oh no! my sweatpants got bleach stains on them. god dammit.

Proud to be an American by Lee Greenwood

If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I’d worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.

I’d thank my lucky stars,
to be livin here today.
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

From the lakes of Minnesota,
to the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.

From Detroit down to Huston,
and New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart,
and its time we stand and say.

That I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

And I’m proud to be and American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

Ingrid came up with something interesting:

"I am not homophobic/racist, i have friends who are gay/(insert race)" is a lot like saying, "I have a car, so i'm a good driver."

hey, maybe at my dad's i can try to set up my CD burner. that'd be nice.

There’s a piece of Maria in every song I sing…
~Counting Crows

And Alison and the really, REALLY tall girl in 10th grade said it’s true. That in every single song, there’s some mention of a girl named Maria, who’s dying, or something. I don’t entirely know, but it’s really interesting. I don’t know if they know this for a fact or just thought it was possible, but… yeah.

you can already download footage of the planes crashing and of the twin towers collapsing. what a world, eh?

and then your mind goes to... how did she know? and the answer's obvious. because i searched.

The pattern of a sestina:
ABCDEF
FAEBDC
CFDABE
ECBFAD
DEACFB
BDFECA
ECA or ACE (with BDF within each line of the envoy)

each letter is the last word of the line, not a rhyming sequence.
It’s hard as fuck, yo.
